Air spaced doublet loupe, not a Hastings Triplet
The title says it all. I bought both the 6x and 10x by 23mm versions and disassembled the 6x out of curiosity. This is a air spaced doublet loupe rather than a Hastings triplet. Interesting that this is not noted in the product description, which IMO it should be. Regardless they work well for the reasonable price and the housings seem to be well constructed with good finish and no sharp corners or burrs. If I note any loosening of the stud and Philips head bolt pivot assembly that holds the case pieces together I will use some Loctite to ensure they stay properly assembled.

Get a Hastings Triplet loupe if you can afford it
This is a double lens, not a hasting triplet, loupe, so it has more chromatic aberration and a smaller circle of clarity. On the other hand, it's cheaper. I was going to replace a Hastings Triplet I'd lost, but I found it, so, this one will be a backup.

Good but could be better
it works good but it has some distortion. I bought because I misplaced my older 10x loupe (found it a few hours before the new one arrived). quality wise it's decent but like i said it's got a tad bit of distortion and it's a little stronger than my 10x loupe but not by much. I would buy it again though!

Very nice little loop
In short I have a couple of these, and they were showing there age (over 20 years old) I was looking for a replacement and this was my choice. Very happy, good glass quality and would by it again if I loose this one.

It’s poor quality.
The worst! Fell apart after 2 uses. DO NOT BUY! Junk!!!!

Not as good as cheaper 10x loupe
I have a 10x triplet loupe which was cheaper, and I thought this would be better based on the brand reputation. However when looking at printed material I can discern substantially more detail with the cheap 10x triplet. This one is going back to Amazon.

Here is a photo from my phone camera through the lens, compared with the closest macro focus without the lens. It provides good magnification and sharp focus. A little bit of chromatic aberration at high-contrast spots, most noticeable around the edges of the lens and almost eliminated at the centre. The metal case feels sturdy and hardwearing, and it is easily un/folded by hand but then stays in position on its own.

This has been used on various wild flower walks. Once you get used to using it properly, the results are amazing and well worth the expense.

Ricapitolando: luminosa, 10 ingrandimenti, va tenuta a circa 3 cm dall'oggetto, sembra robusta, ottima qualita' dell'immagine. Prezzo pagato 25,45 euro.
