Dove Advanced Hair Series Serum-In-Oil, Regenerative Nourishment 1.69 oz

I am a black woman with 4b/4c hair and I used this to blow out my natural hair. My hair was so straight (like a nice kinky straight), my hair was so smooth and soft, there was zero frizz. I did not use a concentrator on my blow dryer, just the blow dryer and a paddle brush. After using this product for a blowout my hair was so light and fluffy. I LOVED IT! Perfect for a blow out before braids or a roller set, pin curls, rod set curls, and curls from Bantu knots. The scent I did not 100% care for, it does not stink its just not fabulous. The scent would not be my #1 pick as it was super basic, nothing chic about the fragrance. So maybe cover with your favorite light serum, perfume, or very light sheen/shine spray.

I have very long hair and exclusively use Dove hair care products. I use this serum in oil on the mid lengths to the ends of my hair, with the highest concentration on the ends. Once most of it is off of my hands, I go ahead and run my hands through all of my hair, including my hairline. I think it does help with frizzy hair too, but it seems to primarily be a treatment product. It smells better than most oils and never leaves my hair feeling greasy. I have dry, color-treated hair, but even with that, I only need about 3 pumps for my whole head of hair. It puts a nice shine on my hair, and although you can apply it to wet hair, I only use it on dry hair right after I brush it, once daily. I’m never able to find this product in stores, but I like it enough to continue ordering it through Amazon and so far, I have never paid more than $10 for it. Similar products from prestige hair care brands cost a whole lot more for the same amount. I plan to stick with this one.

This is a good serum/ hair oil. From my observations, it’s closer to an oil than it is to a serum . I use it on damp just washed hair at night then sleep with a sleeping cap . By the time I wake up in the morning my hair has absorbed the oil and is no longer oily to the touch . It also leaves my hair frizz free and hydrated which is what I need the most . I have a slight issue with the sent of this product . The best way I could describe it is like the weird after taste after eating 0 calorie sugar. It has a weird tinge of smell to it but luckily the smell doesn’t last more than 15 minutes after applying it to the hair and letting the hair absorb it. The bottle is only 1.7 fl oz , but a little goes a long way, so I wasn’t really bothered by the pricing.

I normally use Leonor Greyl products, but their serum is not easy to come by anymore. I thought I'd get this bottle to get me through until my normal product was restocked. Lemmee tell ya -- this was so unexpectedly good!! It does the job, does not have an overwhelming scent and adds just the right amount of control to my curls before diffusing.

This is the last step in my curl routine! I use about a dime size amount to crunch out the gel cast from my hair leaving it soft and shiny!

My never-treated, formerly red but now mostly gray hair is naturally very curly, dry, frizzy, has split ends, breakage, and can best be described as like straw. I love this serum-oil combo. After washing and conditioning, I use far more than the recommended 1-4 pump sprays (like about 16-20). My hair seems to totally absorb this product and doesn't feel oily at all. It doesn't add any weight or greasy feel to my hair, but adds slip and shine. I can actually run a fine tooth comb through my hair without tangles. And though I'm sure they're still there, I can't find any split ends. My biggest complaint is the shape of the pump: I wish it were indented rather than round so that my finger wouldn't slip off when using the pump.

Too oily

Love the smell of this, but it is a serum and ot can be oily. I use it as a before my perfume bc I read perfume drys out your hair. So I wanted something to use before the perfume. Helps make it last longer.
