Essential Tool for Energy Monitoring!
I purchased the SURAIELEC Watt Meter as an aid to track the energy usage of my Level 1 EV charger, but it has proven to be invaluable for monitoring much more around my house, including my second refrigerator. This device is a must-have for anyone looking to keep an eye on their electricity consumption! From the get-go, I was impressed with the meter’s ease of use. The plug-in socket design meant I could get it up and running in seconds. Its backlit large display is a standout feature, offering clear visibility of the wattage, voltage, and ampere readings without squinting or needing to turn on extra lights. The auto cost calculator function is a game-changer. It not only measures the power consumption but also helps me understand the cost associated with running my appliances. This feature has been eye-opening, especially with my EV charger, as it allows me to optimize my charging times based on peak and off-peak hours. Using it with my second refrigerator has also given me insights into how much energy an older appliance consumes compared to newer, more energy-efficient models. This has helped me make informed decisions about potential upgrades and energy use management in my home. The overload protection feature gives me peace of mind, knowing that the device will cut off power if the load exceeds its capacity, preventing any potential damage to my appliances and the watt meter itself. The SURAIELEC Watt Meter is a robust, reliable, and user-friendly device that has made energy monitoring a breeze. Whether it’s for an EV charger or any other appliance, this meter provides accurate readings and useful insights into electricity usage. It’s an excellent investment for anyone serious about managing their energy consumption and reducing their environmental footprint.

Mixed thoughts
I bought this to monitor what it costs to keep my golf cart charged up! I have mixed thoughts about this product! It says not for outdoor use in an unheated/cooled structure! You do not charge a golf cart in an enclosed structure, so I am so far using only on stable weather days even though I am under a roofed structure! I will not charge anything enclosed! As far as the function of the monitor, it so far, works great! I entered our kWh rate and will see what it costs to charge cart per month!

Pretty good for the price - a few problems
Mostly a very good experience. Seems reasonably accurate as far as I can tell. Main issues that I have are that it is not clear how to reset the meter to start a new measurement, very low power measurements don't seem reliable, and plugging devices into it sometimes interfer with function buttons. The ony way that I have been able to find to restart the meter for a new measurement is to totally reset it which also erases cost per KWHr. So you basically have to start totally over for each measurement. I tried pressing the middle two function keys as described in an answer to this question but that did not work. I also tried other combinations of function keys and non worked. I also found that there is a problem with measuring very low power. I have 10 telephones spread throughout my house that operate on chargers. I wanted to see how much standby power the telephones use. I know they use some because they have a light to indicate they are powered. But when I plugged one into Suraielec, it would not even start the timer so I could get no measurement from it no matter how long I left it plugged in. To make matters worse I found that if I increased the current to get the timer to start, the timer would stop as soon as the current dropped below a certain (unknown) level. This not only means that it will not give readings for low power devices but that the timer function will be inaccurate for devices that intermittently use power. The timer will only increment when the current is above a certain (unknown) level. It would be great to at least know what this level is. Anther issue that I had is that the function keys protrude further than the electrical outlet on front of meter. This means that for many plugs that are larger than the basic outlet that the plug interfers with the function keys and an additional extension cord is required. If the outlet was extended to be greater than the height of the function keys then there would not be a problem but it is not. Other than these issues I have been very satisfied with meter so far. Not sure how long it will last. One concern is that the meter still displays when disconnected from power not sure why. If there is a battery, then it will discharge at some point and don't know how meter will work. If the charge is stored in a large capacitor that would be great but don't know if that is the case. So far I've already learned a lot about how much power is used by various devices when you believe the power is off. Not nearly what I thought they would use and easy to turnoff higher usage devices.

Used for finding Christmas light voltages.
I purchased this product during Christmas time to see how many Watts my Christmas lights on my house were pulling. I was fearing that I was exceeding my circuit breakers capacity to carry a load. so I purchased this product and plugged all my house lights in and using LED lights. I was floored to learn that I was only pulling 250watts of current I haven’t flipped through any of the other features that this has other than the wattage feature, I briefly scrolled through to see voltage and amperage and other things just out of curiosity, but it worked for my intended purpose. I’m looking to keep it around to see how big of loads my other electrical appliances in my house pull I was hoping to possibly see if this works for appliances to tell me what voltage they’re using when they’re not in use and turned off, but I haven’t tried that out yet. **Overall, good product that does what it says it does and it’s simple design as a place in my book

easy to use, works as expecteed.
Get a better understanding of how your electricity consumption is affected by each piece of equipment in your home. Put this on various appliances to see how much power is being used. Killers are the big screen TV and two freezers. Everything else is reasonable in comparison. Accuracy is unknown but seems to be tracking pretty well relative to current ratings of different items. Worth it to educate yourself and the family as to how much electricity is being wasted with things being left on etc...

Cheap and it works, but buttons are poorly designed and there is a significant data accuracy issue
It's functional, and tells you what you need. For the price I am happy with it. It's a lot cheaper than the other name-brand option. However, this thing does have some design flaws which are annoying and can give you bad data. Button design flaw: There's no button to reset the stored min/max wattage reading, besides the full reset button. This is annoying because the full reset is engraved and you need a tool to push it (can't use your finger). Also, using the full reset will reset your price per kWh setting. I'm frustrated that this product was designed with BOTH an "up" and "down" button, which don't seem to do anything except light the LED backlight and help you set the electricity price. Since the price is set per digit, why couldn't they just have had one "set" button (to increment up) and another "zero lo/hi" button? Data accuracy issue with "max wattage" reading: Based on my observation, the electricity monitoring goes into a sort of "sleep" state when the power consumption is 0. The count-up timer will stop when this happens. There is a major issue here, which is it seems to take a few seconds to detect once power has started flowing again. When using the "current wattage" mode, you can still see updated (if laggy) wattage numbers, but THE MAX WATTAGE READING WILL DROP A FEW SECONDS OF DATA. This means that if you have something using 0 watts for a while, then 500 watts for a couple seconds, then 100 watts. you will see those numbers in "current wattage", but in "max wattage" the device will still tell you 100W. This is really a pain when testing something like a refrigerator, which has a power usage pattern like I described above, but I can't see the ACTUAL max wattage unless I'm staring at this thing in "current wattage" mode when the fridge turns on.

Wish the back light could stay on permanately...
Sure if it stayed on permanently it would be a waste of electric energy. But having to bend down and push the buttons every time to light it up so I can peek at the display is annoying and a waste of my time and ENERGY....

Well-made
I’ve owned about six of these. This is by far the best. I’ve only been using it for about two weeks, but with the other ones I had if you draw too much current, I’ve had them where the pins melt. This one is designed to handle more power amperage and voltage Then the plug on it is rated for according to the specifications. This should handle twice the power amperage and voltage that you’d be using on a 120 system very easy to use, and the background light makes all the difference in the world like one other person said they wish it would stay on longer. It does stay on a reasonable length of time. I personally wished that it would stay on continuously till you turn it off, but it doesn’t but it’s the best metre like this that I’ve ever seen or used. I give it 10 stars if I could.

Suraielec Wattmètre, je recommande fortement.
I recommend this Suraielec Wattmeter. Initially this Wattmeter worked fine, but, about 5 to 6 months of no-usage, the Wattmeter's display no longer worked. I contacted Suraielec Customer Support and the next day they contacted me to investigate the issue, and which proceed to the Wattmeter's replacement. I would like to emphasize the rapid answer and the courtesy of the Surailec's customer support people.
