Pin holes but did not affect performance
EDIT: I decided to keep the bags because the more I searched for an alternative that was in stock, the more I saw the same complaint about all the mylar bags. I found a prepper site that explained that sometimes the mylar will flake off the bag but the plastic lining inside is still intact. So I filled a couple of the bags with water beyond where the holes were and none of the water leaked out after letting it sit for awhile. I subsequently decided to use the bags and put the oxygen absorbers and my food stuff inside. The bags seemed to shrink down as they should with the oxygen absorbers in there. Now they are in plastic buckets with lids so I feel they will be safe for a few years if need be. I'm raising my review to 5 stars after receiving contact from the seller and an explanation. This is indeed common with Mylar and does not affect performance.I checked the first four bags based on reviews that said they had many holes down by where the base opens to widen. The first bag seemed okay but I didn't check the bottom well on that one, only the sides. The next three had multiple holes in not just the bottom seem but also some in other areas of the bag. On the second bag I started to try taping over the holes. Very hard to do because of the location on that bottom seam. The next two bags, even more holes. It seems like just handling the bags in that bottom area was causing more holes which is weird because the bags don't seem thin. They seem fairly sturdy but I've never bought mylar bags for food storage so hard to compare. I went back and checked the first bag again and sure enough, a hole in the base area AND a whole in the side but not at the seam. Just a random hole in the side area of the bag. Not worth the trouble to search all of them and try to find all the holes. Took me a half hour on just four bags!!

The Jury Is Still Out
These are some thick Mylar bags! I had to seal them with a clothes iron set on its highest temperature to seal them. My Foodsaver device could not seal them at all. After receiving this package of 25 one gallon Mylar bags, I read a review about them possibly having pin holes. For this reason, I have used these bags experimentally to store some dry foods to monitor the outcome. Before packing them, in a dark room, I shined a bright flashlight inside the bag. I could definitely see light escaping from a few pin sized areas and seams. This was true of this brand quart zipper bags as well except no light escaped the quart bag seams. What I'm unsure about is if these light leaks are actually holes or are they defects in the foil but still air tight due to the fact they have the Mylar plastic film coating.Using the recommended oxygen absorbers, after sealing, the bag tightened around the food overnight and has stayed relatively tight over two months. Not sure how they would do over 20 years. I opened one after 2 months and the food seems fine.I'll update my review if I come to any actual conclusion.

Beware of pinhole in gusset crease/fold.
Before you fill the bag with product, make sure to inspect the gusset fold/crease at bottom of bag.Multiple of the bags I received had a pinhole right at the fold. Until you unfold/expand the gusset and look from inside the bag out, you will not see it. One needs the sharp light contrast of the dark bag with good amount of light on the outside. At first, creating a vacuum with O2 absorbent will seem to work, but even a minuscule puncture like the one I found will ruin the contents as air is allowed into the bag.The location of the hole is pretty consistent, about 1/3 from the edge of bag so could be manufacturing issue but it was not on all bags. Be advised, this happened on multiple ordered sets of 50 so in IMO, not just a single batch issue.Since the hole is small, I was able to repair the bags I found before processing. I used E-600 adhesive on the outside of the bag and inspecting them every other day to ensure repair holds. Unfortunately, those that I have already processed before realizing the issue, I had to discard bag and product. The bags were hot sealed and the product exposed to ambient moisture which ruins Freeze Dried food.As Freeze Drying food is a 23+ hour operation, not happy about having to discard, particularly proteins.

The best I’ve ever bought
These are my absolute favorite bags. They are thicker then other brands who claim to be the same thickness. Never had a any rips or punctures. I have bought this brand several times and never have been disappointed

Just a little too sturdy
Bags are great but my Seal a meal will not seal these well as they are too thick for it. I used some like these last year but must have been a little thinner. These will not seal completely. Have tied several times but none are well sealed.

Gets the job done!
Very good quality. Especially like to use the seal at the top after placing the oxygen absorbers in 5 bags at a time before I seal them with a hot iron. This was the second time I’ve purchased these bags and I just bought more yesterday. I use 600 cc’s in one gallon. A bag of flour fits perfectly in one gallon - we make breads.

Very poor product, no where near the thickness they advertise. I returned
Previous ones I had ordered had doubled in price so I thought I would try these, they are so incredibly thin it is crazy. Horrible quality all round. I returned...... DO NOT BUY

Thick and strong with good resealable zipper.
I got a dehydrator and started the process. It is great, I learned that food shrink a lot when you take moistures out. So I am going to use this one gallon size for bulkier already dried purchased food to store for long term. Hopefully I can find half gallons size bags for my home dehydrated food, for now I will use the canning jars. The thickness is great! I will trust with oxygen absorber and some silica gel will keep my food lasts extra long . I also like the zipper for resealed again. Don’t forget to buy the tin garbage can with lid to store your Mylar storage , so pests can’t get access to your food. Happy with this purchase, the delivery was fast too.

Fantastic quality mylar bags.
These 1 gallon bags were exactly as described. They were very thick, very sturdy and the zipper was a great help in sealing the bags before ironing them closed. I like them so much that I bought them a second time. I would highly recommend.

Belle qualité
Bonne qualité, les sacs sont peut-être un peu moins épais que les autres que j'ai achetés, mais ils sont quand même résistant!
