Bodum is THE way to go in coffee presses and after breaking 3 other glass presses we've gotten this item and haven't looked back since. It's keep the coffee hot for several hours. Stainless steel for easy cleaning and looks nice over time. It is a bit pricey over other presses but it is also that much better. This model holds 1 liter..enough for 3 tall cups of coffee. We have the smaller one that does 1 12 oz cup as well but usually we use this one.

I ordered this after using a press pot in France. I had been using the aeropress, which I love. But it's a pain when I want another cup (I don't find that it makes multiple cups of strong coffee). I wanted a pot that was thermal, looks good and makes several cups. Coffee remains hot for at least one hour. It's easy to clean and is very contemporary in appearance. Love it.

Insulating factor is five-star, but size is zero-star. It doesn't even hold five cups of water, much less eight. I bought it for my husband for Christmas, and was sorely disappointed to find it was not as large as stated, and certainly is not large enough for more than one person to get two cups of coffee out of it. My husband is a tender-hearted fellow who wouldn't dream of asking me to return it, but if there had been a way to do so without his knowing about it, I would have. It's lovely to look at, but when your sole purpose is to serve your guests plenty of hot coffee at brunch and you get fewer than 5 cups of water into the vessel, who cares about pretty?

Efficient and easy to use

been using for 5+ years. add coffee and hot water, press plunger, done. cleans easily, i just rinse it and run a dishtowel over the outside. always looks nice on the counter.with their other (glass) presses i have had trouble with the filters and keeping it clean. just rinse with hot water every time you use this and no maint is necessary. the filter is just one piece so it won't disassemble on you. and you'll never have to clean it.

Love that the coffee stays hot

French press produces a very different coffee than any other method, and this is the best overall press we've ever used. Keeps it hot, pours well, and has a silicone seal around the filter plunger.

I was sick and tired of my glass cafetieres perennially breaking either through my own actions or acts of God (such as cats being caught sneaking around my windowsill and in their terror smashing not just the cafetiere but every dish that had been put on the sideboard to dry) so I decided to go the nuclear route and get a metal cafetiere that would only break if it fell in lava.This is a little pricey but after using it a few weeks I can safely say it was worth every penny. Why spend £10 or £20 on a glass one that can break at any moment? How much is peace of mind worth to you?Although I've not dropped it yet, I can say it feels robustly constructed although I am a little concerned about the silicone filter which I'm sure one day will need replacing.After 2 hours, provided the lid is turned to "off" the coffee remains as warm as if it were freshly brewed. A caveat when making coffee, don't use boiling water fresh from the kettle because the grounds will continue to cook and thus may leave an acrid aftertaste after a while.When prepared properly, the coffee I've brewed in this beautifully machined hunk of metal seems to have a superiour flavour to coffee brewed in glass or traditional filter coffee machines.

Easy to make good coffee and looks really stylish

Amaaaaaazing! Initially I balked at the price - who pays that much for a single serving coffee press?! However, the pull for me was that it goes in the dishwasher - All of my other ones shattered in the dishwasher (despite being supposedly dishwasher-safe). After breaking 4 of the cheap ones (2 to the dishwasher, one to slippery soapy hands, and one to the cat knocking it off the table), I decided to splurge on this one, and I am in love. All the parts survive the dishwasher with ease, it's not got loads of different crevices so it's really easy to clean, and the filter thing on the inside is sturdy and doesn't warp so that it no longer strains the grounds, nor does it have little sharp bits like my old ones that get caught in the sponge if I do choose to hand-wash it. Plus, the whole thing looks nice as well. I may have to buy another one for work, and a bigger one for guests!

Spot on, replaced my glass version when it finally cracked and this is nice replacement. Fully dishwasher proof, worth the extra cash

Die erste Kanne kam bei mir defekt an (der Stempel ließ sich nicht bewegen). Bei der zweiten Lieferung habe ich einen Rückläufer erhalten: an der äußeren Verpackung war zu erkennen, daß jemand diese schon grobmotorisch geöffnet hatte (siehe Bilder). Außerdem war der Artikel innen nicht originalverpackt wie bei der ersten Lieferung. Last but not least, war am Deckel ein kleiner Kratzer (auf dem Bild nur schwer erkennbar). Apropos Deckel: Dieser wirkt im Vergleich zur Kanne extrem billig. Ist in keinster Weise so massiv wie die Kanne. Ach ja: wenn man den Bodum Support kontaktiert, wird (auch nach drei Wochen) nicht reagiert. Hatte mich eigentlich drauf gefreut, aber bei diesem Preis geht das nicht klar und die Kanne ging wieder zurück.
