Biokleen Produce Wash, 16 Ounces, Grape Fruit Seed & Lime Peel, 1 Pound (Pack of 1) (B00095)

I should have gotten a magnifying glass to read the ingredients panel on the website before I ordered. One of the first ingredients listed is SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, a cancer precursor. I avoid cosmetics with this ingredient, so there's NO WAY I would use this to wash my produce. For those of you who missed out on getting this, consider yourself fortunate.

This stuff is awesome for cleaning fruit. I mix up a batch in a big bowl and soak my fruit in it for several minutes, swishing it around. You should the amount of dirt that comes off the grapes! Amazing and horrifying. Rinsing alone isn't going to remove all that filth. It is soap, so you do have to rinse it off. There is NO residual taste if you rinse well. I'm wondering if the other reviewers who said it left a taste did not rinse it off. It is completely tasteless after rinsed. I also use it on cherries, plums, nectarines and some veggies. For raspberries and blackberries, I do my usual soak of a mix of white vinegar and water to keep the mold away instead of this soap (soak in white vinegar and water, drain, then let dry, don't rinse. The vinegar taste disappears when dry.)

I love this product and have used for many years. I like to dilute in water and add to a spray bottle. So easy to spray a single apple, let set a few minutes, then rinse. Works great to spray broccoli of cauliflower too. I find that it rinses clean and leaves fruits and veggies squeaky clean, ready to eat. Never an after taste.

I've been using Biokleen produce wash for about 10ish years. Back then, produce wash was a brand new concept and this was available only through the company. I'm pleased to find it here on Amazon now.After taking a microbiology class for nursing, I became a total germaphobe and was totally grossed out by how many people handle and touch our produce before we actually bring it home. After that class, I started noticing coughing and sneezing people and germy children with runny noses sorting through and touching the produce with dirty hands. I was mortified and desperate to disinfect. Then I found Biokleen.This stuff is my saviour. Everything from the produce department gets cleaned with it. I dilute this with water in a spray bottle and spray things like tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. Even things with a thick protective peel, like citrus, get cleaned. (If you cut into it with a knife, whatever is on the outside gets transferred to the inside) Things like broccoli, grapes, and spinach get soaked in a bowl of water with Biokleen added. Things with that waxy coating take a few applications, but it comes off. Just spray and be patient. Rinse everything well and let air dry before storing. A lot of work? Yes it is, but I'd rather be cleaning produce for a hour than sick in bed for a week.Ok. I'll get off my soapbox now. Pun entirely intended.

Whether it's organic or not, I always wash my produce. Washing with this has always improved the taste of the food...but that being said, it leaves no taste on the food itself. I pour a small dollop in my hand, rub it together to get the suds working, scrub with my hands and then rinse THOROUGHLY. One bottle lasted me for over a year!

This leaves a bitter taste on all of your produce.

Make sure you read the full list of ingredients on the back of the label (my mistake for not doing so smh) mostly full of words that can’t be pronounced and we all know that’s almost never safe. Most importantly, it comes with no seal. How do we know something wasn’t added to it once leaving the manufacturer (super unsafe). Who buys items especially liquids without a seal of protection, especially in today’s climate.. can’t even return it I mean it’s cheap but it’s about the principle for me. Stay safe and don’t buy.

I really like how thick this product is. I am able to use a little and actually wash and make bubbles on the fruit. It feels much more like actually washing it than the other stuff I used to use.I cannot taste anything but the fruit.I have been using it in a bowl with one spray and putting fruit like grapes or cherries in and letting them soak. Makes it so easy! Great product!
