Solar Battery Charged, Motorized Solar Blanket Reel Roller (Blue) - Click-of-Button Simple Operation - Suitable for Rectangular Swimming Pools up to 20x40'

We recently purchased a Solar-Lakes Solar Battery Charged Solar Blanket Reel Motor for our solar cover. We have a large pool - 20 feet by 40 feet. You can see from the picture that the tubing has to be longer than the width of the pool cover because of some steps in the pool.When I first started exploring motorized reel systems, I was concerned about a lot of issues including that my tubing sagged under the weight of the rolled up solar pool cover, that the tubing was longer than the width of the solar cover, and whether the motor would be powerful enough to roll and unroll it.I contacted Solar-Lakes. I had numerous emails, texts and calls with Gabor from Solar-Lakes. He was amazing. He patiently worked with me to make sure I was comfortable and that the system would work. This was before I even purchased the unit. He answered all of my questions. He pointed to some videos on his website, one of which helped us eliminate the sagging. Once we followed the instructions, the sagging went away. Again, this was all before I purchased anything.We purchased and installed the motorized solar system. It was easy to install - took about 30 minutes. It works great. It slowly rolls and unrolls the cover without any effort. The remote is great and I can stand away from the reel and the remote will still operate.My wife and I are getting older and using the hand-turning reel was becoming difficult. The Solar-Lakes motorized system solved this problem for us. We highly recommend the system. It is truly worth the price.

First off, it shipped 2 days early, was immediately contacted via text by designer for any needed support.I’m new to pool life, so I have no experience with these devices whatsoever, but removing and putting on our 32 foot solar cover manually is brutal.Construction and finish are top notch and not justified in photos.During assembly I was supported by designer almost all the way throughSet up in a couple hours (if I had experience would have been faster)Worked perfectly first shot and was amazed at what I was watching while our 32 foot solar cover slid right off the pool almost out of sight.Awesome product.

My initial test prior to full assembly failed. I contacted the Seller and we were able to determine the (simple) root cause and fix it. An interior cable loosened in shipment. The high quality of this product is obvious as soon as it is unboxed. I knew that we could resolve the issue quickly--and it was. This product will allow me easily cover my pool to keep the temperature much warmer for longer in my Southwest climate. Having a remote controlled, affordable roller motor makes the process so much easier (and likely to happen!).

Yes, thanks to the use of the solar powered solar blanket reel by Solar Lakes, I can now use the blanket that came with my new in-ground pool to keep the water temp warm enough to continue to swim, hopefully through much of the winter months here in Central Florida. Using a manual reel was out of the question with my arthritis, so finding a remote enabled solar powered unit was a tremendous blessing!Our pool is a smaller [10’x19’] therapy pool, so it took a few conversations with Gabor, owner at Solar Lakes, to make sure we ordered the right reel as well as the proper tubing, straps and clips needed to secure the blanket to the tubes that fit very nicely into the two sides of the reel. Though Solar Lakes does not sell the tubing, straps and clips, Gabor wanted to make sure his product would work well for us, so he even sent us a link to a tube seller offering a good price for the tubes and sent us straps and clips from his own supply at no charge. Everything worked well, though my husband opted for larger clips and additional straps to put less stress on the blanket, so we ordered those separately. Gabor also had us send him photos of our pool, so he could make sure his product would work for us and to advise us on placement of the solar panel.The two-piece reel itself operates flawlessly, slowly turning to extend the blanket over the pool or draw it back in with just the push of a button on one of the two included remotes. [My husband attached a tether to the end of the blanket so that I can guide it and make sure it is winding up evenly.] One end of the unit contains the solar battery, which we have placed where it gets plenty of sunshine to keep it powered. But in the event of lengthy inclement weather, it can be charged inside by plugging it in. Our model is also a pretty blue color that goes well with our pool colors. White is also available.I am a happy senior, knowing I can continue doing the pool therapy I need all year long.

I can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase. The quality is remarkable, the ease of set up is amazing and the look is great. Beautiful welds on the bases and great range for the remote control. I can't say enough about this roller and how great a value it is. On top of that the customer service is Amazing! The seller asked me to send a picture of the install just so he could make sure everything was done correctly. What great follow up.

What I appreciated most about this product is that it works as promised. I've had the system running for about a month now and don't experience any issues with the motor moving in either direction when pulling or pushing the solar pool cover. Solar panel charging the battery works just fine. Remote controls work fine and allow me to guide the cover from a distance.My reason to purchase this product was (1) wanted a compact, automated tool to pull in the pool cover, (2) tired of dealing with hand crank devices which make it "tough-er" to open/close a pool for one individual as it's hard to guide when winding (3) technology/concept is pretty cool (4) always feels good to support an entrepreneur here in the USA.

I used it 3 times and the cheap plastic around the connector plug broke. Trying to get it refunded has been a nightmare. The product may not be so bad. The rest of the device looked sturdy, but that one plastic part was pretty important. I don’t trust this seller.
