I cook southwest style often and since so many canned ingredients are basically swill (water, salt, food starch), I make stuff like enchilada sauce from scratch. I use dried anchos all the time and these are the best brand I have found. They have a nice leathery texture (if they are crispy dry, they are too stale) and a distinct earthy aroma almost like bitter chocolate. I bought a 16oz bag and I'm glad that the purchase is in my order history as when I run out, I'll order another one of this brand.

These are excellent chili peppers and they have such great flavor and a little heat. These are easy to use and go great in many dishes especially my mexican dishes. I love the flavor and the spicy heat from these peppers. I will be purchasing more.

I find these peppers unedible. They taste like licorice. No pepper flavor at all. I discarded them in trash.
