These are very good and would buy again.
A replacement pair that I bought a few years ago came with a small plastic tool to aid getting these onto the earphones. It was like a miniature paint can opener with a handle and a small bit of lip to reach under and pull the edges out around the earphones. I'm not sure exactly what to recommend, but some simple tool like this (that is not sharp and could damage the covers) made it much easier to get the covers on. Maybe a crochet needle?

These have brought new life to my old Sony - MDR-V600 headphones. Almost feels like the First Time. :)

Perfect fit
Perfect fit, very easy to install, very comfortable.I deducted 1 star as ad states material is leather. It is definitely not leather. Similar to original material - very thin vinyl.Hope it lasts a long time.

they fit the MDR-V6..
just in case you were wondering, they do indeed fit the MDR-V6 Sony headphones. I accidentally ordered these as a quick cheap replacement for my old worn out OG earpieces. At the time I didn't realize these were for the V600 and other various headphones.. but being that these were pretty affordable I didn't return them and tried them on the V6 and surprisingly they fit pretty snug! they feel like the original material, which is good and bad. Good in a sense that I like the comfort, bad because they will eventually wear out and flake quickly if you use them often enough. But for the price point these will be great until I order a pair of sheepskin replacements!

Saved my favorite headphones.
Like others, I have an old pair of Sony 7509s and the faux leather has been shedding for a few years now. The little black pieces would stick to my neck and beard. Not a good look when your playing a wedding or a club. I replaced them with a pair of Sony 7506s but I did not like the fact that the wires on those headphones were exposed between the earpiece and the strap. For DJing purposes I felt that the wires could be easily damaged. On my 7509's I was able to get the old pads off pretty easy. They just pull off. It took a little skill to get the new ones on but they fit great and look much better. The replacement pads will spin a little bit on the earpiece but that doesn't bother me. I also purchased the Geekria Headband Cover since the padding on the head strap was shedding as well. For a purchase of less then $20 these headphones are like new. Ill keep the 7506's as backups since they sound great but the 7509s are such a great pair of headphones for DJing im really glad to have them back in service!

Cheap material, difficult to put on but not many other options
I have replaced the ear pads on my Sony MDR V600 once before. These replacements were very tight along the finished inner edge - it would have been better if the edge were finished with a bit of elasticity. It took a LOT of patience while worrying about ripping the very fragile feeling material but I finally got them on. I do not expect these to last very long - this type of material always starts flaking. If there were another better quality option, I would definitely be willing to pay more, but I am unable to find anything.

Good value, saved my headphones.
I refurbished by MDR-V600s headphones with these pads because the original pads completely deteriorated. They work well. Be really careful putting them on as the “pleather” material is very easily damaged. I made A minor tear in one on the section that holds it on the can trying to stretch it in place. Also be careful if you are replacing an original as the pad covering the diaphragm is also probably disentegrated that you don’t damage them trying to clean them up. Soft brush and air can recommended. If it lasts a year I will be happy. There is another vendor selling a zipper cover for the headband that is also great.

Turned a 19-year-old Set of of Sony MDR-V600s Back to Brand New
I ordered new cushions because the coating on the originals was flaking off and making a big mess. I hadn't used the headphones for several years for that reason. Before removing the old cushions I listened to them and was surprised how dead they sounded - no highs or lows to speak of. After getting the cushions off, I found that the screens and elements on both sides were clogged up with dust and fuzz. It took some work to gently brush and blow them out, but after doing that and mounting the new cushions, they sounded like what I remembered from when they were new. (I paid $99 + tax for them in 1999 at a Sears store - remember them?) So - when you replace headset cushions, make sure to also thoroughly clean and gently blow out the area behind the mesh that covers the drivers. (The mesh is part of the cushion assembly.)Installing the cushions: You have to fit one side of the lip on the cushion into the slot on the can and work your way around until the entire lip is in the slot, then rotate the whole cushion back and forth a little on the can to work the lip down fully in place. Be sure to look at how the old cushions go before removing them so you can put the new ones on the same way, OR just make sure the openings will match the shape of your ears when they're on your head. I'm not trying to insult anyone's intelligence, but if you've never done this before, it might look more difficult than it really is.They openings on these particular cushions are ear-shaped, not round as on some models, so positioning is important.I like these cushions. Time will tell how well they hold up and how long the coating will last. They are very comfortable and fit around my average-size ears very nicely. They aren't quite as good at reducing ambient noise as the cushions on my $99 Sennheiser HD-280s, but they're close, and they're better than what I remember with the Sony originals.I would recommend them to anyone needing to replace the cushions on an older set of headphones.
