UPDATE: 9/29/2016The Lilysilk people reached out to me to make sure I was satisfied with the product. All of my bedding (other than this pillow and a quilt at the foot of the bed) is white, and I'd actually been having some problems with color transfer. There are some hot pink splotches on my white quilt and I've also noticed that occasionally I'll get some hot pink staining on my skin. This is probably because I'm either sweating (or drooling, let's be real) at night or because Florida is painfully humid. Either way, I notified them of the issue and they immediately offered me options, reassurance (about the non-toxic nature of the dye), and a refund. I love the product and wanted to keep it, so they kindly offered to exchange my case for one in a lighter color that wouldn't lead to noticeable color transfer. I could not be more impressed by how kind, responsive, and pro-active they were in addressing my simple concern. I will definitely be buying pillowcases from them as gifts this christmas season--I'll just keep in mind my recipients' bedding colors as I choose.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I am recently on a mission to improve the quality of my hair and skin--your mid-30s hitting will do that, apparently. I carefully read reviews on silk pillowcases before I went for this one, and I learned some interesting things:1. There's no such thing as a satin "fabric" -- satin is a finish.2. There are apparently many different weights of silk (known as mommes) and they impact how heavy the silk is and thus how well suite it is to any particular use.3. Many celebrities sleep on silk pillowcases!After reading the reviews of many options, I elected to go with the fuchsia pillowcase from Lilysilk. Some earlier reviewers mentioned that the products on their face or general face/hair oils could discolor the lighter ones and I didn't want to take that risk. The color is great; it's a bright, shiny pop of awesome pink on my bed. The texture is very smooth but not unpleasantly slick. The fabric stays cool at night and does not get warm.As advertised, only the top of the pillowcase is silk; the bottom is white cotton. This is nice for a couple of reasons. First, that I can easily just turn the pillow over during the day if I don't want the bright pink, but more importantly so that my foster kitty doesn't shed all over the silk while I'm at work. Second, that the grippier surface of the cotton holds to the sheet and doesn't let the pillow slide around while I'm sleeping.The pillow does zip closed, which is a nice touch I'd never thought to look for but will definitely keep in mind in the future. I have one of those memory foam neck pillows, so there's a bit of excess on the sides, but that hasn't been a problem at all.Now, does it work? I have to say I think it delivers on the quantifiable promises. I usually have to wash my hair daily because it gets so out of control and sweaty and oily after I sleep on it. With this pillow case, however, I've been able to go a solid 2.5 days--my hair is much more manageable when I wake up and I can brush it out and go without it looking like a disaster.I'm already planning to buy these for friends as gifts!

I bought this due to a recommendation and after years of hearing how silk is better for your hair and skin. I’m so glad I bought this, it’s so great bc the softness helps me fall asleep and I do feel like it helps my skin. I also really appreciate the price, it was rly innovative of this company to make legit silk on one side with a cotton backside bc it’s makes this luxury type product so much more attainable. Great product, would recommend.

Arrived on time and nicely packaged. I immediately washed this item on the delicate cycle, in cold water and most important - placed in a lingerie wash bag for protection in the washing machine. These cases must be air dried so I placed it over the shower rod to dry. The silk side was not wrinkled but the cotton side was a bit wrinkled. I did not feel the need to iron it because I only sleep on the silk side. My pillow is a memory foam pillow designed to be slept on one side so the issue of the silk being on one side was no issue for me. In fact I love the intelligent design of having the cotton on the bottom because it keeps the pillow in place.I have to sleep on a wedge pillow (under my regular pillow) so had this been silk on both sides it would have been impossible to keep the pillow in place on the wedge. I am so happy someone thought to design a pillow cover this way. This pillow looks to be well constructed.The color Ivory that I purchased is very subtle and lighter that I expected but nice. The silk feels nice to sleep on. I gave this pillow cover 4 stars instead of 5 because unfortunately, I sleep hot on this pillow case. I was hoping it would be better temperature wise since the material is pretty thin and seems like it would be breathable. The smallest size offered is 20x30 and although it fits my standard pillow because it is longer it feels like it bunches up more that I would like. It would be better if they offered the 20x26 size. Because the silk side is so thin I'm not sure how this will hold up with repeated use and washings but only time will tell on that. I did also purchase a similar pillow cover from another brand in size 20x26 which fits my pillow better but I must say the silk on this 20x30 pillow is softer.

I bought this because I may have some hair breakage from flannel pillowcase. I have already noticed a difference in sleep quality. I don't wake up with lines on my face and it doesn't pull my hair. Just flip over to cotton side if you want it to match texture of other pillow cases when bed is made.

This pillowcase has been washed over and over and is still soft. I have a few silk and satin pillowcases that don't have the cotton on one side. I used to fight with my pillow all night long because it would slip away. Who ever came up witn this concept is brilliant! Great quality material, zips closed and hold up to machine washes. I've had this pillowcase almost a year already.

very nice silk pillow case but after FIRST washing in a lingerie bag, I found a snag/pull on the silk fabric..maybe the silk is too thin or perhaps it came like that and I didn't notice. not sure but disappointing

So my husband only likes cotton pillowcases, and I only like silk. For years, our pillowcases didn’t match, and it just made my bed look ugly no matter how hard I tried to hide it. 😭But NO MORE! Now we can have our cake and eat it too! They are a little pricey and I was nervous about spending so much, but they are totally worth it. They don’t slide around like my old ones did, they are very high quality, and they look simply beautiful on the bed. Highly recommend!!!

I love this thing, mainly bought it because there's so many international reviews and the company seems fairly well known/reputable for this sort of thing, so you know your getting real, quality silk.Its only silk on one side, presumably to save money, but that doesn't really matter when you're sleeping on the thing and honestly even the cotton side feels like its quite high quality, compared to spending 90 dollars at Sheridan to say this is a bargain is an understatement.And sleeping on silk in general is a great experience, its amazingly soft and smooth also feels cool to the touch, other materials don't even compare, also my hair feels way better after sleeping on this. Would recommend to anyone.

I like that only 1 side is silk- stops it slipping. Helps stop my hair being so frizzy.

Be sure you note, one side is a satin/silk pillow case the other is a think cotton style material. Very thin. Fine if you sleep with it and dont display the other side on the bed, but i didnt like the feeling of it under my hands, as i normally sleep on my stomach with my hands under the pillow. States it is cotton, but doesnt feel quality. Silk side is very nice, however got catches and tugs easy,Great for a few months.
