This product seems to be as good of quality as the first version, coming with even better traction and padding around the ankle.If you look closely, however, you can see exactly why this 2nd iteration of an otherwise perfect shoe was made: money. Sorel has made the lip (and just the lip) of the shoe cropped to where, when new soles are needed, there is not a single sole on the market that can be used to replace them. This makes the need for new shoes absolute.I love the shoe material Sorel uses, as well as their products in general, but they already won't offer resoling "outside the warranty period," nor will they offer replacement soles for purchase. This is a disgusting move on par with the Apple brand and I will continue to buy the old Chukkas new, used, etc. If it means I can repair them after I spent years getting them perfectly shaped for my foot.

These boots look classy and should not to be used in the snow/rain if you want to retain the original look. The shoes are dressy with some ruggedness and they're on the loose side but I was expecting that because they don't offer a 13.5 size option so had to size up. They are on the expensive side but it's hard to find a good looking boot in my size, snow/rain stompers aren't. Might spray them with a waterproof solution but it will darken it which I'm trying to avoid.

These are a very strong pair of shoes and dirt resistant. Only problem is they’re too difficult to put on and take off even with a half a size larger. It fits as expected yet you have to open every single lace to put on and take off, no elasticity at all. I guess that contributes to its strength

Favorite boots I've ever owned. I'm located in MN and we have incredibly cold, snowy winters. I've been out in them multiple times in the snow and my feet remain very comfortable, warm, and dry. They look like dress boots but function like snow boots. Love them. Pair them with some nice warm socks and you've got a winner.

Nice fit. More than comfortable. The sole is not hard like a pair of timberland. Have good width.

I have quite wide feet and these boots are not too tight and fit perfectly. You don’t need to break them in. They are extremely comfortable.

I wanted a pair of smartish desert / chukka style boots, but rugged enough to romp through the woods with.These boots seem to hit the sweet spot. They are great - very comfortable, they look really presentable, and have a grippy rugged sole and waterproofing on the suede.Top product - well made . Recommend.

Used this on a trip to Zambia and they were immediately comfortable and clearly strongly made. I also bought some "field" boots because they were cheaper, but these Sorel's were so much better I wore them the whole time - and the other boots are now in the cupboard.

Excellent quality boots. Not tested waterproof feature yet, but very comfortable and supportive with good grip.

Lovely soft leather, good fit, quite lightweight but feel solid, feet dry and warm
