Disappointed
I had high hopes for this book but found it ultimately disappointing. I wasn't expecting it to really "reveal" any ceremonies and don't really need that anyway - that's available plenty of other places if that is what you're looking for. I read the Hiram Key though and was looking forward to some continuation of that style of research into Freemasonry.I found it to be overly long and wandering in several places. Although the author is a scientist, I found his discussion of several relics to be a bit fanciful. As one example, he states on page 217 that a pair of decorated ochre artifacts were discovered in Africa that were dated as more than 70,000 years old. If these are engraved pieces of an iron like substance, how can anyone know when they were created? I understand the basics of radio carbon dating, but it would seem to me that if anyone marks or engraves on a piece of rock or ore, there is no real way to determine when they did this, just how old the rock or ore is. I could go outside and find a rock, engrave it with a design, and leave it for a hundred years. The next person who found it could have it dated and it might legitimately be many tens of thousands of years old, but would not prove when I actually marked on it.It is an interesting read to see what the author's philosophy is, but I wouldn't consider this something to keep on the bookshelf.

Decent Read
A decent read with the personal twist. Exploring the meaning of the rituals of Masonry makes the book an interesting one to add to the reading list. In some cases, like the Hiram Key, there is some conjecture and stretches. Having said that, the book provides significant insights and opportunities for thought. At the end of the day, Masonic ritual is very personal and this may help you get in touch with it.

Decent read if you are looking into the lodge
As a mason I find most of this stuff to be as much humorous as informative but this does a pretty good job and sticks fairly close to facts.

The Hiram Key
The Hiram Key: Pharaohs, Freemasonry, and the Discovery of the Secret Scrolls of Jesus [HIRAM KEY ]Fascinating stuff, even though, Jew or Christian, it is contrary to what we have been taught from childhood. Much of it is valid, although much is a matter of interpretation -- and a few errors of fact. Yet, it surely connects and explains the source of Masonic rituals

the holy grail search of feemasonry
Generally speaking, turning the hiram key manifests the author's indulgent journey from darkness to light through the three degrees of speculative freemasonry in such an enthusiasm as if he had set of to search for the Holy Grail by detailing step by step his initiation for the 3 degrees: Entered Apprentice , fellow craft degree, and master masonFurthermore, the importance of this book enhances maliciously by shaping the spiritual side as well as the scientific face of freemasonry starting by explaining and analyzing the tracing boards and what is their meanings , quoting from many scientists explaining the human brain and its mechanism and how the discovered the god conscience part in the brain and so on .Last but not least, I `ll quote here some paragraphs which In my opinion shed some lights upon the meaning and purpose of freemasonry:`' freemasonry is the only spiritual system I know that has evolved away from the risk of religious intolerance. it teaches you how to contact the centre, to experience oneness with creation. But it does not tell you what religious beliefs you must hold; all it asks is that you accept that thee is a sense of order in the universe.""the purpose of freemasonry is to help its members become initiates in the science of life. If you want to know yourself, then freemasonry offers a path to that knowledge."

Very good
The authors work on a theme and it's evident they're very good at joining the dots. Very well researched and when taken as part of the series, they provide a lot of insight.

Turning the Key
What a superb piece of literature. Whilst not a Mason, it confirmed a lot of things I knew about Masonry. Although, I wish I'd read this 5 years ago - I would've saved myself a lot of convoluted thought and research through different religious beliefs, philosophical ideas, Theosophy, Thelema, Gnosticism etc.Definitely a book to read and re-read, it will most certainly illuminate and inform.I need to find my nearest Lodge now...!Highly recommended!!!

Good but ...
I found it interesting (fascinating in places) but the number oftimes he repeated trivial disparaging or mocking comments got abit irritating - hence the four stars rather than the five thatmost of his actual commentary deserved.
