I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. When he took it out of the package and turned it on the purr did not work. Assuming it was dead batteries, I ordered replacement LR44s. We replaced the batteries and the purr still does not work.I'm updating the review. My grandson found a button on the paw of the cat that makes it purr. He's very happy now. So am I. 5 stars.

Cute minecraft stuffed for our daughter. It's perfect neck size and the meowing sound is the same as in the game.

Update: Somehow this thing started purring! I don’t know if it’s a short in the wiring but it came on! Still questionable.This is the second one I ordered and still with new AG13 batteries that I ordered extra from Amazon the cat still wouldn’t purr. It was a birthday gift so I still gave it to my granddaughter. The pillow itself is cute and soft. She liked it a lot but don’t advertise it purrs and it doesn’t!

Ok. I recently bought this as a Christmas gift despite all the complaints of it not meowing. I too es heartbroken when it arrived and did not work. After fully Inspecting the toy I installed brand new button batteries and it still did not meow. Not willing to give up on this awesome gift I went to the forums. Where’s I found the answer I was looking for. PUSH THE PAW! It immediately began purring and with every push another delightful tone was emitted. YEAH! PUSH THE PAW BEFORE you replace the batteries! As my cute gift just became and expensive gift 😆 . I’m sure that the gift recipient will love it.
