Great Price, and Really Warm!
I am so happy I bought these snow pants for my husband’s ski trip to Keystone! I was a little worried about him staying warm because he usually gets cold so easily, but these worked out perfectly. The insulation is really great and he said they kept him nice and toasty even when the wind was picking up on the mountain. He even mentioned that they didn't feel heavy or bulky at all while he was skiing. The fit of the Arctix Men's Essential Snow Pants is really nice because the waistband is adjustable, so he could get it just right over his base layers. I also love that they have those reinforced scuff guards at the bottom because he can be kind of rough on his gear. They stayed completely dry all day long which was the most important thing for us. We are definitely impressed with the quality for such a good price. They have all these handy little features like the O-ring for his lift ticket and the boot gaiters that actually kept the snow out of his boots. He’s already planning to wear them again for our next trip and I’m just glad he was comfortable the whole time. Highly recommend for anyone heading to the slopes!

Solid Ski Pants! Would Buy Again!
These were my first pair of ski/snow pants. I bought them for a trip to Germany, where there was constant snow. See below for a general overview of pros and cons. Pros: - Waterproof: truly waterproof. I tried them out in rain and snow (up to knee-deep) and there was no water damage or leakage of water inside the pants. - Breathable: never sweat in these despite hiking for hours. - Warm: these pants are very well insulated. I did not have to wear thermals under these and my legs were always warm, even in single-digit (Fahrenheit) weather. I sat on ice and blocks of snow and my legs never got cold. - Durable and well-made: I put these pants through rough terrain and non-stop snow exposure. They held up excellent and no evidence of wear and tear. - Very comfortable - Fit very well: I am a little under 5'4" with a 28 waist. Although these pants were a bit wide at the waist, there are elastic velcro bands on the sides that you can tighten to shrink the waist. Despite this, the pants were still a bit wide at the waist but I can't blame the company for that being that I have a 28 waist and there "Small" size fits more like a 30. Cons: - The only issue I had with these was the length. They are a bit long on me, to the point that the bottom backs of the pants scrap the ground even when I'm wearing snow boots. Again I'm a little shy of 5'4" and usually wear a 30-inch short inseam for my regular jeans and dress pants but these seem to be more of a 30-inch long inseam. But these are the shortest snow/ski pants I could find for this price so I'll take it. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. They definitely did the trick in Germany, where there was constant snow. I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for reliable, durable, warm, waterproof pants for cold weather.

good pants
Originally, I bought and returned the Arctix Cargo Snow pants. The sizing on the Cargo style was off in my opinion. These essential snow pants are more accurate sizing. The length on the regular is shown as 32 inch and on the Cargo pants that was way off as those were much longer. On these Essential snow pants the length was as expected. I also found the waist in the Cargo style smaller than expected while the Essential style was more accurate. For these Essential snow pants, I find them a good bargain. They are decently constructed and I think will work well for my use which is taking the dog out in winter and shoveling. I have worn them a few times now and they are warm and provided wind and wet protection. These are very very much like the Cargo syle other than the sizing seems much better.. I don't expect they will last a lifetime but for my occassional non-extreme use, I expect some years. I think the snaps and velcro waist closure is weak, but ok. The adjustable waist feature give small flexibility but I largely think it doesn't do much due to its design. I ordered a size up in these so that I could wear over pants or not over pants. These fit good over pants, but not over pants they are a little loose and the adjustable waist isn't firm enough to help a lot. I added a belt and now I am set. The boot gaitors on these also seem more appropriately size where I think the ones are the Cargo are super large. I am happy with these especially for the price. I'd not pay more.

Great value vs larger retail name brands
Comfortable, warm, and fit well. Adjustable waist band is great and holds well. Just a bit nervous for longevity since a few places (like the one picutured) aren't sealed and there's already some fuzz falling out. I have yet to wear these outside or in snow. I've since updated my review to 5 stars, having worn these out a half dozen times snowboarding and have went down a few times and never had any snow get into my base layer. Also seems to be pretty durable even sliding on ice.

Very nice, fairly large in fit
I’m a 30x30 in men’s jeans (I can fit into a 29 if they’re stretch waist, but 30 is my true size). I got the medium thinking it would be nice for thermals and stuff underneath. Well, they’re big. Even with the straps all the way tight I need to use a belt. They do have a belt loop thankfully, so I will keep them. If you’re a 30” waist, I’d recommend trying the smalls, as they seem to be over-sized by design (they thought of layering too, it appears, and made them large). The medium work with a belt, but seriously the waist is easily over 34”, they fall right off even when tightened. That said I haven’t tried them with thermals, that will help. Anyway, they’re super warm, I’m sitting here inside with them on and they’re too hot to keep on. They’re very clearly made of a water resistant material, like most snow pants I had growing up. The bottoms are large, but you can tuck them in boots or you can fold them and cuff it to make them tight. Inside on the bottom of the leg, there is a separate tight stretch piece (pictured). That’s kind of cool, let’s you cuff the big part and still have that section to tuck in boots or let rest on top. I like them, they’re really nice, just don’t size up unless you’re going to be wearing a ton of stuff inside and using a belt/suspenders.

price
Finally, a pair that work, Sizing chart is jacked up. Sent 2 pairs back. Besides that, seem too well-made and warm and should work well when you don't need a full blown snow outfit.

Sizing nightmare!!
Getting the sizing right on these pants was incredibly difficult; it took me 3 orders to finally achieve the perfect fit. My measurement where the belt sits is exactly 35.5 inches. I usually wear Levi's 510/511 jeans in size W31-L30 without needing a belt (If I cannot get W31-L30, I can manage up to W32-L32 with out looking loose) First Attempt (Small-32): Based on reviews, I ordered a Small-32. The result was too tight in the waist, offering little room to move comfortably and about 2 inches too short in the inseam. (They fit my wife perfectly, so I kept them). Second Attempt (Medium-34): I sized up to a Medium-34. The width was a little loose but manageable by tightening the side Velcro adjusters. However, the inseam was 2 inches too long. Since the material is thick, rolling the cuffs significantly tightens the lower leg, preventing it from covering a boot properly. Cutting the pants seemed like an option, but the tailoring cost would likely exceed the cost of the pants themselves. Third Attempt (Medium-32): Finally, the Medium-32 was a perfect fit! The length is ideal, hitting about half an inch above the floor when I'm barefoot. It's strange that the Small-32 was too short, but the Medium-32 is just right, suggesting that the increase in the hip/pelvis area changes the overall effective length. While I don't know the specifics of clothing manufacturing, I always assumed a 32-inch inseam would be consistent regardless of the waist size. The pockets and insulation seem good, and the cappuccino color is close to the images, though slightly less saturated. The style and comfort are both excellent.

Fantastic Ski Pants But Get The Sizing Right
I bought both the small for myself and the medium for my 15 year old son. Im a woman (38 year old, 5 foot 7, 120 lbs) and the smalls just fit me, they will work but would prefer them to be a tiny bit bigger maybe by an inch in the waist. I also bought my son the medium and they look 2-3 sizes bigger and are just massive so technically the size is the right size for me and the medium is the right size for my son because he likes his pants oversized and baggy. He's 5 foot 9 , 130 lbs. But we will need to put a belt on them or have the waist taken in quite a bit. Overall though we are really happy the price is amazing and quality is great. I can't see many men fitting the small, maybe boys, because im a very small woman and like I said they just fit me.

Fit was great with the leg length option.
Product seems well made. Stitching looks solid - was concerned about other reviews on this. Bought the men's as my measurements are awkward to buy for in the women's. (waist 44.5", Hip 47") Just a little large still once i had thermals and waterproof hiking pants under them, but was able to reduce the waist with the velcro adjusters, and they have belt loops if i need a belt. the short leg length was perfect for me being 5'7". If you weren't wearing layers under, definitely need an XL instead. Can't remember if it mentioned in the info, but it's labelled 5000 waterproof, so not greatd but should be fine for a dryer snow environment.
