Completely Eliminated Carpenter Ants But Takes Time
This stuff worked great on a carpenter ant infestation I had but it took a couple weeks. I ordered this product and applied it about a week after I first noticed carpenter ants hanging out around the corner of my house. For the first week it seemed like issue was getting worse then I started noticing more dead ants than live ones. After about 2 weeks I'd only see a random ant here or there now I haven't seen a single ant in my house for a couple days and virtually none outside. It works great but the effects aren't immediate like some sprays might be. It purposefully kills the ants slowly so they have time to share the bait throughout the colony so if you don't see results after a couple days just be patient.

Their gone, YAY!
I was having a problem with "Allegheny mound ant" or at least that's what I think they were/are. These ants built a home right at the bottom of my front steps. They are very quick and aggressive ants that love to bite. I made the mistake of going out to change the hummingbird feeder a couple hours after the grass was cut. Every time we cut the grass we destroy the mound these ants make pissing them off, on top of that where I stand for the feeder is right on one of there main paths. My flipflopped feet were no match for thousands of pissed off mound ants. Normally we don't worry about ants and just leave them alone but these ants are very aggressive. They remind me a bit of fire ants so I decided I needed to get rid of these little jerks for everyone's safety, which led me here. As soon as I got this ant bait I sprinkled a large amount of it around their mound and their two main trails. When I checked back a couple days later I did see a decrease in numbers but they were still visibly active. I wasn't sure if their lowered numbers was because they weren't mad anymore or if they were dieing. Allot of the bait was gone so I gave them more just to be safe. After a few more days they again were still there but in even smaller numbers. The most promising sign to me was I saw a small black ant roaming around the perimeter of the mound in between the much larger mound ants. There is no way a small black ant from an enemy nest would have been able to get that close to the mound before. I didn't add any more bait this time I just hoped that the queen at least was already dead plus I didn't want that black ant to take the bait home. It took a couple of weeks before all activity of the mound ants were gone. I can't actually say for sure if the ants are dead or if they moved but their slowly lowering number of visible ants makes me think that this bait did its job. Thank you Terro. I'm now off the refill the hummingbird feeder with peace of mind that I am not going to be attacked again and can go back to enjoying watching these fascinating little birds.

Excellent for crickets and ants, though you may need to do a little detective work.
I bought this for two problems, crickets in an outdoor storage shed, and large ants (?carpenter) on my patio. I have an outdoor storage shed approximately 3’ x 6’ which has been infested with crickets for many years. Open the door and there would be dozens on the walls, ceiling, etc. I applied a generous amount of this, closed the door, and within 24 hours not a single cricket remained and none of the granules remained on the floor either. Obviously, they ate the stuff and went off to die somewhere. It has been several weeks now, and not a single cricket. Mission accomplished. My second problem was large ants (?carpenters) on my patio. I was not sure where they were coming from and sprinkled the granules all around the perimeter of my house. After several days, there was not much improvement. I then spent some time studying the ants and found them mainly around one corner of my patio near the house, and was able to follow a trail of them going from the corner of the house, across the patio, and ultimately to a grass area. From there, it was too difficult to see them/track them in the grass. So, obviously the nest was very far from where I was seeing them on my patio. I then reapplied the granules, but just in the one spot on the patio where there was the most of them, and from there I continued the application along the trail I had seen previously. I stopped at the grass area. Lo and behold, two days later, no ants. So my interpretation is that you need to apply the product close enough to the hive that the ants pick up the granules and bring it back to the hive. And if you don’t know where that is, try to map out the trail by close observation. So this works very well, worthy of five stars, but realize that applying to the correct location near the hive is critical for a successful application.

Fighting A LOSING BATTLE>
I have read that if you weigh all the earth's ants, and then weigh all the people, the ants actually weigh more in total. This stuff undoubtedly killed a lot of ants, but i don't see much difference.

If You Feed Them, They Will Die...
- I used Amdro traps with paste in them. Carpenter ants avoided completely. I knew, if they immediately start eating something, then I know it will work. - Got the Terro yesterday, 08.12.24. it happened I had eaten popcorn, Left the bag on the stand next to couch. Came back a couple hours after a nap, was covered with ants. I thought, perfect opportunity to try it. Got rid of the popcorn bag, sprinkled a small amount on the end table. They immediately went for it. Watch the video. They eat ALL of it. - sprinkle the larger amount, still not very much, at the base of the end table (see video). Did a time lapse for a couple hours. You can see the results. - CARPENTER ANTS are definitely worse than just black sugar ants. They can bite you, they have a little bit of a poison that can cause a small blister, and some itching. Definitely annoying. - 2 lb container is good size. Could easily be spread around the perimeter of house if you make a thin line. I'm putting some on the counter and in the kitchen cupboard to see what happens, because they also were coming in there. - Granules are small to kind of a decent size. A little bit difficult for the ants to carry off at times. What I found is that they sit there and eat on it also. So I'm hoping it works according to plan; they eat it and also carry it all back to the queen and kill the nest. - Super easy to use. Just carefully shake it out of the lid that has holes in it. Holes are pretty big, so be careful, it will pour a lot. ------------------------------------------------ 08.18.24 UPDATE - they came up in the kitchen, and another part of the living room. I poured more and in the kitchen they have been feeding on it for going on two days. It's down to a few ants, hoping it's killing the nest queen. I'm leaving a nice supply there until I don't see any ants at all.

Attacks the source
Normally the lower half of our home gets ants pretty bad. Our daughter's room in particular and she does not even eat in that room. When I went to outside where her room window was I noticed on the ground there was a very active ant's nest. I sprinkled this on the ground and this did the job, will definitely be making this part of our seasonal routine.
