How to Look After and Clean Needle Files A common mistake when using jewelers' mini needle files is to use them in a sawing action, back and forth. Jewelers' needle files work in one direction and must be used in a push action, filing gently away from you in one direction. If used incorrectly the teeth of the file will round off and dull quickly making them unusable. These needle files sets are fine and delicate, and with proper care and use will last a lifetime, so do treat them with care. Do use a dry toothbrush or a stiff paintbrush to clean them if the teeth become clogged Do keep them dry Do use them in one direction only Do store them on their own, back in their packet Do not bend them Do not put excess strain on them Do not use them in a see-saw, back and forth action Do not store them where they will become damaged by friction against other tools

Because nothing is worse than a dull chainsaw!
Used one file to sharpen the mini chainsaw I bought from Amazon a while back. Nothing beats having the right tool for the job!

Wears down fast but file well
I ordered this to file down some metal shavings and 3D prints. It works well but they wear down fast on cheap sheet metal. On wood and plastic they appear to be more durable. If you need files for wood or plastic these are great. If you are working with metal you would be better off with some higher quality models

Basic necessity for all modellers
I am introducing my grandsons, 9 and 6, to model building. I purchased these micro files as part of a set of modeling tools for my older grandson. We have used them in building the Revell Viking ship and they are great for smoothing the sprue connections and glue joints. These are comfortable to hold and use and they do the job for little money. I used them to rough finish a kintsugi project and the half round file did a superb job on an area of extensive replacement of missing ceramic pieces. These are tops.

They work for what I needed them for.
Files work great on steel and brass, however the handles came loose on first use. This was fixed by adding a little glue to the file and replacing the handle and letting the glue set and cure. Over I'm happy with the purchase and as always Amazon got them here a day or two early. The handles caused s low rating as I should not need to fix a new tool.

Inexpensive. Gets the job done.
Some of the files separated quickly from their handles but they did the job of fine filing I needed them for.

You get what you pay for.
Handle came off one of the files first time using. Others have worked so far.
