This teapot does not come with a strainer. There are other models with a strainer.

Q: Does lid stay in place when pouring? does it drip when pouring?

It does not drip when pouring, the lid stays in place until tilted about 45 degrees.

Q: Does the handle get hot in the microwave?

Haven't used it in the microwave but on the stovetop handle can sometimes get warm. Its great I use it to heat up a lot of things.
