Product Description Welcome to the world of Caillou (Ky-yoo) where every day is an adventure filled with fun, laughter and surprises! From his own back yard to his very fist airplane ride, Caillou learns about the world around him one step at a time. There's a whole world for Caillou to explore! Come along as Caillou learns about trains and boats, visits a farm and leans to eat with chopsticks! .com Caillou (pronounced KY-yoo) is a PBS animated series about a 4-year-old boy who's facing the challenges of growing up while gleaning an understanding of the world around him. The series features simple, colorful animation interspersed with puppetry, songs, and real children. A narrator describes Caillou's thoughts and feelings, helping kids and parents understand the motivations behind Caillou's actions. What makes the series so effective is that Caillou's actions and feelings are incredibly realistic and universal--Caillou is reality TV for young children. Caillou the Explorer contains two episodes. In the first episode, Caillou and his grandfather spend a day refurbishing an old toy boat; Gilbert, Teddy, and Rexi (puppets) explore various modes of transportation; and Caillou takes his first train trip. In the second episode, Caillou spends a day on a working farm, the puppets create some special culinary treats to share with each other, and Caillou gets his first taste of Chinese cuisine at a friend's house. These new situations inspire jealousy, awe, fear, embarrassment, and pride within Caillou. Most importantly, each experience helps Caillou grow as a person and furthers his understanding of the world. (Ages 2 to 6) --Tami Horiuchi

My 2 year old loves this video
It is beyond the antics of a 4 year old boy that gets my sons attention. It is colorful, imaginative, sweet, and very real. Caillou has a younger sister and there is much interaction between the two. He gets to explore new places and he shows how his excitment can also lead to some fear of the "new" adventure. It teaches that feelings and emotions of fear, joy, etc. are okay and also that you can get over fear to accept new things in his life.A very rewarding video for children of all ages and gender.

Annoying, Self-Centered, Bald Pain in the Neck
If this is what you want for your kids, knock yourself out. If they don't whine and complain incessantly now they sure will after a few viewings. Caillou(even his name is irritating) also consistently defies the wishes of his parents and is very disobedient. Great message for young children.

Kids will be kids
The stories are similar to other Caillou. The parents are perfect, the kids almost never cries, the cat is always friendly and the grand-mother is super patient... But my daughter loved it... Hey well. I'll give 4 stars, and go back to watch Caillou... Have fun with your kids.

Not for children?!?
... This is such a positive show for kids in the 4 year old range. Caillou is a wonderful child, with normal tendencies, and loving, guiding parents. I would highly recommend this video, and all other Caillou videos/shows in the series, to anyone... Especially those with children around age 4.

Mixed Emotions
This series could be so much better than it is - I have to say Caillou is pretty whiney. Also - why does he have no hair? He looks like one of those poor kids w/cancer. Also - lastly, what kind of name is Caillou?? Anyway, my little three-year old loves Caillou but i wish they would make him less WHINEY. I love that everything (including the kitchen sink) is in primary colors.

Very Realistic, Colorful
This video is about a 4 year old boy and his family and friends. I watch the series as often as I get to. So do my cousins (age 5). It helps us all solve problems in the real world.
