Dug an older camcorder out of a closet to digitize the family videos, but the battery was long dead. The camcorder needs power to even eject a tape, let along play one back (you can't put a Hi8 8mm tape into an adapter and have it play in a normal VCR, like you can with VHS-C cassettes). I bought this Kastar 1-pack SB-L160 battery and AC Wall Charger with low expectations, but it's performed flawlessly in my Samsung SCL860. It should also work in similar models; SCL810/L860/L870 which all share the same operator's manual from Samsung. I've done over an hour and a half of playback with intermittent FF/Rew in the first session, and the battery was still above 60% power, according to the on-screen indicator. It even survived an accidental full discharge when I left the camcorder in Playback mode for two days, instead of Off. After recharging, there was no indication that the battery had lost any performance. The charger's LED is red while charging and green when charged/no battery in the charger. The wall charger isn't some kind of "fast" charger, it seems to take at least 7 hours to charge the included battery. On the plus side, the battery doesn't get very warm while charging so it likely won't suffer any degradation. I might buy a second battery pack just to always have one ready to go rather than having to wait overnight between charges.

I bought this camcorder at a thrift store and was searching for a replacement battery for a while, and this battery fit perfectly! Can't wait to experiment with this camera now! :)

It works fine. the thing that I do not particular care for is the charging cable is USB only and cannot be used with an outlet. I do not always have a computer or USB connection for charging.

Purchased this as a second battery to have charged and on hand when using my Samsung Camcorder. I can use the original battery and have the second one charging at the same time by using the wall charger that came with the battery.
