The ultimate KA24 tool
I could not find a KA timing chain tool. So I bought this L and Z series tool. I was pleasantly surprised it works perfect for a KA24DE engine. I would not recommend for a L or Z since its very short and may not reach the tensioner. I have rebuilt a few L and Z series and always used a longer tool since the tensioner is right above the crank. But it may work, I just dont have any L/Z engines anymore. The KA has the tensioner at the top of the lower timing cover so its a perfect fit. I had it in for a month while rebuilding head and doing other maintenance on Altima.See my website for more details or pictures. Great product and nicely made! I attached some pictures of the tensioner.

Timing Chain Work
This wedge would have worked for me if I had known how far down inside behind the timing chain cover it needed to be to keep the chain from getting slack in it. So unless you like to take the whole front of the engine apart find out how deep it needs to be to keep the tensioner tight

Works perfectly
Item works as described. Saved me a lot of time

Great idea but..
This thing is a good idea and it does hold the chain! Only huge problem is that the length is too short to compress the chain tensioner down below. Which leads to not enough slack and not being able to get the cam-gear on the camshaft.

Not long enough
This is not long enough to hold the timing chain tensioner in place when replacing a head gasket on a Datsun/Nissan 720 pickup.
