Car Runs Smooth, Less Friction, and Improved Performance at Start Up and Underload.
I kept hearing things about this oil from a few friends that work on cars and from my "go-to" mechanic. I was previously using Mobile 1 0w-20 on my 2024 4Runner and my wife's 2025 Outback Onyx, and this time around I decided to try it on both cars as they needed an oil change. So far I am happy with the change for both cars. This is good oil quality, smooth engine running, and noticeable oil lubrication at cold start. I am getting better MPGs mileage on both cars. Also noticeable engine is running with smoother. I had to lower my car window to check that my 4runner was on as it was quiet. I will update my review after a second oil change with this oil on both cars.

Smooth, Quiet, and Reliable Protection
I recently switched over to this oil and it’s honestly one of the best upgrades I’ve made for my 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback 2.5L. The 5 liter jug is the perfect amount for a full change, and I really like knowing it’s a high-quality fully synthetic formula that gives my engine the protection it deserves. The first thing I noticed was how much smoother cold starts became—no more of that rough, clunky sound in the mornings. The engine feels quieter overall and runs more efficiently, like it’s not straining as much. I’ve also seen fewer deposits and buildup, which gives me peace of mind about long-term wear. Another thing I appreciate is that it’s designed with modern engines in mind—safe for turbocharged setups and catalytic converters. It also blends easily with other oils, which makes topping off simple if I ever need to. Highlights for me: Excellent cold-start protection, even on chilly mornings. Noticeable improvement in smoothness and reduced engine noise. Works well with today’s engines, including turbos. Easy to mix when topping off. Overall, this oil gives me confidence that my engine is well-protected and performing at its best. Definitely feels like a premium choice that’s worth it.

One of the top three.
I watched several videos on synthetic oils. Moly, Amsoil and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum kept engines clean with little wear. Amsoil was the winner of engine wear, drain interval and removal of existing sludge and varnish. It is also most expensive. Moly doesn't like to mix with other oils. It purports to increase fuel economy. If you want to use it you should do a second oil change the following day. Moly is a very good product as is Pennzoil. Neither Moly or Pennzoil encourage extended drain intervals. Probably a max of 7,500 miles or one year which ever comes first. I decided to go with Amsoil 5w30 for least engine wear including the timing chain and cleaning existing sludge and varnish. I am currently running Valvoline Restore and Protect for up to 5,000 miles to remove a substantial amount of sludge and varnish before making the switch.

LiquiMoly makes the world’s best oils and additives
If you’re new to LiquiMoly and reading these reviews, I can assure you that these are the best motor oils in the world. I’ve been using various formulas and weights in all of my cars over many years, and have never experienced any major engine failures. I use LiquiMoly motor oil in combination with their Ceratec product. This particular oil, the MolyGen range, already has a friction additive in it so you don’t need to use the Ceratec. Obviously it’s an excellent oil and has kept my heavily used truck running smoothly and flawlessly. One odd characteristic of the MolyGen oils is the strange green color. You feel like you’re dumping antifreeze/coolant into your engine. I had to explain this to my dealership when I brought my truck in for service when they saw the color of the oil. Anyway, this is an excellent oil. Don’t waste your money on Mobil 1 or Pennzoil or any of that other mass produced stuff when you can buy this for a similar price.

Best performance oil
If Mobile 1 is the best oil for money, liquid moly is the best oil for performance engine. There is a noticeable better mpg and acceleration.

Surprised and Impressed — Liqui Moly Molygen Made a Difference!
I recently did an oil change on my 2017 Acura TLX and decided to try Liqui Moly Molygen for the first time. I’ve always been a loyal Mobil 1 user, but after hearing so much buzz around Molygen, I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype — and it absolutely did. Right away, I noticed the engine ran smoother and quieter. Acceleration felt more responsive, and the car seemed to operate with a bit more ease, especially during cold starts and highway cruising. I also appreciated the distinct UV dye included in Molygen — a clever touch that helps with leak detection, though I thankfully didn’t need it. What really stood out was how refined the engine felt. It’s hard to describe, but the driving experience just felt cleaner and more dialed-in. It gave me real confidence that the engine was being well-protected — something I value as I plan to keep this car for many more years. All in all, I’m really glad I gave Molygen a shot. Mobil 1 is great, but Liqui Moly Molygen has earned a permanent spot in my rotation. Highly recommended for anyone who takes engine care seriously.
