Good if tuned right, especially for the price.
I installed these in the rear doors of my mazda with a passive crossover initially (though now running through a DSP) and they produce great low end with low wattage when tuned correctly. If you are not getting bass out of these your phase, crossover or EQ is not setup right. I was able to get these to reproduce down to 30hz and even audible 25hz though at a lower DB. I would compare the end result roughly to like a really solid dedicated 8 or 10inch sealed subwoofer. I wouldn't feed these more than 50watts RMS and even then keep the gain tame. the Timpano T500 mini class D amps pair nicely with these for car audio but keep in mind this is not the intended use case for this speaker - its probably more intended for DIY bookshelf speaker projects etc...

Good value and easy to install.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: It worked great in my 1997 Toyota landcruiser. Ot comes with the wires and hardware. I really appreciated that. And its a great price. Works well: Easy to install.

Small but good bass
I have a Klipsch PC speaker speaker system that had a blown subwoofer speaker and this speaker fits and works good. Its not a super high end speaker, but works well with the system.

Functional Replacement Speaker
I have an old Altec Lansing VS4121 computer speaker system. The system includes a 6.5 inch subwoofer. In my case the subwoofer finally went out about 2 weeks ago. The original woofer is very cheap using a paper speaker suspension ring which torn in several different places and was making loud popping noises when any bass was sent through it. While the speaker system itself is not worth that much, I didn't feel like buying a new one when everything else was working except the subwoofer. This Dayton Audio appeared to be the best replacement without going too inexpensive. The original woofer was powered with a 19 watt RMS amp, so the 60 watt max rating on this speaker was very much in line. The construction was also superior. The replacement was simple. Just had to de-solder and re-solder the power leads. The audio quality was fine. A little bit better than the original when new. I don't push the sub that much as I live in a multi-family unit, so this replacement is ideal for the scenario. Just make sure that you're getting the woofer with the correct impedance, in this case 4 ohms.

Incredible bang for buck
Installed in a 97 pathfinder. speaker is of tangibly greater quality than alpine audio speakers of similar price that were in car and outpreforms them by a million miles. you can not go wrong for 30 bucks a pop. comparable- or even better than- 160 dollar focal speakers

Poor performance in midrange frequencies
I think these will function better as midbass drivers in a 3 way setup than midrange in a 2 way (ie. 250 hz and below). I was using these for a budget 2 way setup in my car (DA DC160.4 & DA PS95-8). I fed them 75 Wrms each had them crossed to cover the frequency band between 80 and 1000 HZ via a mini dsp crossover. I also deadened and sealed the doors to give them the best chance. After lots of listening and eq adjustment, I determined that I really didn't like the way these sounded. They just don't produce midrange tones very well, which is strange since the specification sheet w/ the frequency response graph on Dayton's website indicates that they are fairly linear up to 2000 hz. Now I know frequency response isn't the only factor to look at when predicting driver performance. In the end, I ended up replacing these with 6.5" Silver Flutes from Madisound and was much more satisfied.

Amazing for the price
Bass is defined and deep, gives a big boom for its size. Doesn't cause any interior rattle (unlike my stock speakers) which is a huge plus for me. I'll likely use these anytime I need small subs

Put this in my 2017 Audi Q7 to replace the standard audio subwoofer in the boot. What a difference it makes, wish I'd done this sooner.
