wife loves her pack
We sought out Granite Gear based on another pack we own. Their products seem Very light, well made and this one is no exception.

Seems like a nice little pack
I have a Granite Gear Arete pack from 10 or more years ago, and it is still going strong. It is an old friend, and truth be told I could probably get by with that pack alone, but I wanted a smaller pack for summer time when I would not be carrying as much clothing and gear around with me daily. Definitely much lighter materials than the old cordura fabric, but it should be durable enough, and I don't plan on beating on this pack too much. I took off the hip belt, and took out the frame sheet, so it is sub 1.5 lbs now. The padding even without the frame sheet is really substantial, with a good amount of structure and stiffness. The Fatigue color is pretty nice, but I would have preferred a bit brighter color option, or at least some contrasting trim or something. But this color won't attract much attention and that can be good too. This pack won't stand on it's own, so that is a con, but a lot of other small packs won't either.
