Best I’ve found
I’ve purchased this several times now and think it’s the best pine tar soap I’ve tried to date. It does not dry your skin out like some others I’ve tried, probably due to the lack of sodium. It lathers well and leaves me feeling clean. It does have a strong smell that would be off putting if you don’t like smelling like a camp fire or are sensitive to smells, but that’s the nature of pine tar. Lastly it has zero pine oil added to it so no concerns of smelling like Pine-sol. My only complaint is its intermittent availability.

The real deal
This is some powerful soap. I love the smell, which is like the soap equivalent to the taste of scotch. It smells like fire, leather and old things. It definitely has the strength to smell up the bathroom and not just when you take a shower. Just the presence of the bar is pretty noticeable from within a three or four foot radius, so if you don't like the smell I imagine you really won't like the soap. It retains the scent throughout the bar. The bar itself wears down slightly slower than an average artisan bar of its size but right around average. It has a nice lather and feels more waxy than oily. It is a smooth soap, without any coarse elements. It isn't the easiest soap to rinse off; which I like, but once you rinse it off you feel real clean. The scent lightly lingers on the skin for a couple of hours in what I would consider to be a very pleasant manner. I kinda love this soap.

Smells great but not at the gym
I love this soap and I want to use it daily. I also love this company but I gotta be critical for similar use cases such as mine. The following critique isn't really about this particular soap but how I imagine any pine tar soap experience would go. What happens is I'll use it in the morning and the smell will wear off (I do enjoy the smell). I'll work all day and not a whiff. However the first day I went to the gym after using it in the morning (8 hours later), when my body heat builds up, the smell came back. Keep in mind I work outside about 50% of the time (I tow cars), and it wasn't an issue. I smelled it on myself the entire time at the gym and especially in the sauna. Whether or not that's a bad thing is up to you. I smelled like a walking campfire and while I don't think it bothered people, they were probably wondering who came straight to the gym after making s'mores. I'll stick to using it on days I don't plan on working out or when I'm gonna be mowing the grass or hiking as I hear the mosquitos and bugs hate it

Cleans your hide, and has a good stink too..
This soap is a bit pricey, but I like it a lot! It definitely has a unique and manly smell. Not quite as powerful as wearing a fresh kill buffalo or grizzly hide or using diesel fuel as cologne, but definitely not foo-foo neither. Use this and you won't be mistook for some city feller. As far as how it works on sensitive skin I couldn't say. According to the missus my skin is not unlike thick leather. Most skeeters don't even bother with me as it ain't worth their time. All I know is that this soap feels good, it's got a good stink to it and it does a good job at removing dirt and grit and anything else stuck to my hide. I also like the campfire smell it leaves behind. The only downside I see to using this soap is that it might make a blind porcupine or beaver mistake you for a tasty tree..or it could get a lady saquatch a little too excited and cause her to drag you off..so be forewarned. I definitely recommend this soap.

Works great and a smell I hate.
Yes this soap works really well on dry and eczema skin. It smells horrible. It smells like dead burnt cow... I was hoping for more of a pine scent... it’s a tar cow smell. My bathroom smells like burnt offerings to Baal. Some nasty stuff, but it does work really well to help with dry patches. I am sad I bought two, if you have seriously dry skin then go for it, if Covid took the use of your olfactory then it’s amazing, but if you have sensitive smell and an adversity to the aroma of crusty charred fat then maybe not for you.

Great soap that REALLY helps psoriasis
If you're looking for gentle, non-chemical help with psoriasis, this soap is a lifesaver. I've had a bad psoriasis problem on one of my toes for the past 15 years; since I began using this soap three months ago, the patch has not cracked, bled or itched. In fact, the scales are almost gone! I don't know how it works, but I cannot deny the proof in front of my eyes. (And my goodness what a relief.) The rest of my skin seems to be clearer, too - and not so itchy or prone to breaking into rashes at everything. The piney, tarry scent will wear off in an hour or so, but be forewarned: It's VERY strong when you first smell it, when it's wet and when you're using it. Just power through it, though - this soap WILL help your skin.

The best pine tar soap
I bought this soap because I have eczema. My skin gets red, flaky and itchy often. I noticed that when this happened to my scalp, Neutrogena T-gel was the only thing that helped it (besides prescription stuff) and I had tried rubbing the shampoo on my body as well. I decided to look for a pine tar soap, but the overwhelming majority of the ones I found seemed to be using it purely to evoke an 'old timey' scent rather than do any medicating. The fact they use it for the scent is mind boggling to me because pine tar (and coal tar) smell like motor oil. That may be the biggest downside of this soap, it will make your shower smell like a garage and you may want to get a soap case to keep it in when you aren't using it. This brand was one of the only ones that actually tells you how much pine tar is in it and focused on medical benefits, so I gave it a shot. It works well when my skin is flaky and helps take it back to normal. It doesn't do much if my skin is just red and itchy, but the flakiness is the hardest part to get rid of for me (and probably causes some itchiness). It isn't a miracle worker, but it does the job and works better than normal soap. I use it whenever I have a flare up. It is pretty cheap too, so they have acquired a new customer for sure. I also use their other soaps which are great for people with sensitive skin.

Long Lasting Scent, Natural, Great Product
I have used several Pine Tar based soaps, and was excited after seeing the "20% Pine Tar" amount in this soap, because I was looking for the scent to last longer than other soaps with lower percentages. My expectation was of it smelling more like a Pine Tree, than a Campfire, but the scent is still great. Forewarning - it leaves quite the lasting scent in the bathroom after a shower (even for days), until it is used after a week or two, then it becomes less lasting. The bar is thicker than other soaps in the market so the bar itself lasts longer than a week or two, as other soaps I have used that are the same type (natural ingredients, non detergent, etc.) have only lasted around that amount of time. If you are looking for a natural soap that smells like an outdoor campfire and stays on the skin for a decent amount of time, then get this NOW. You will not be disappointed.
