Absolutely Wonderful Product!
This product is wonderful! It works great for bacterial or fungal infections and is a great preventative as well. It’s a great ear cleaner. Unlike antibiotics, this will not upset natural biome, so can be used regularly if needed. Great for dogs, cats and humans too! Much better than neosporin and the like. So happy this product exists!

Works well, but I think the hydrocortisone version is better.
I've used this brand for years to handle intermittent ear infections after my dog goes swimming. Typically it works really well, within one or two uses, but this time around it doesn't seem to be as effective in correcting the ear infection. This bottle doesn't have hydrocortisone in it, so maybe that's why? It was slightly less expensive than the one with, and that's why I chose it, as my finances are in a tight space right now. Overall, it is quite expensive, but I keep giving this company a shot because it's been reliable over the years. Once I finish this large bottle (in a month or so if her infection hasn't cleared up) I will likely try the formula with hydrocortisone again to to see if it makes any more of a difference. The texture is greasy, the substance is clear. My dog willingly allows me to treat her ears with it, so I believe it must provide some relief or comfort. It does make your fingers feel tacky and smell funny, and within just minutes of applying it, your dog will shake it's head and the gross black gunk from within the ear canal will start to loosen and come out. Using a warm washcloth with mild soap will remove the sticky residue that gets into he ear fur, but before this I usually use a tissue to wipe away any chunky stuff that I can see. I use it daily when an ear infection is present.

An Answer to Prayer….Literally!
Generally, I’m not very good about submitting product reviews—which is messed up because I rely on them so much when making my purchasing decisions. But every now and then a product makes such an impression on me (good or bad) that I feel obligated to share my experience. This is one of those cases. Charlie, my Lab/Golden mix, has been plagued with ear infections for the year and a half that I’ve had him. When an infection flares up, the poor guy shakes his head incessantly and digs and scratches his ears to the point of whining and crying. So far we’ve been to the vet two times for treatments and I was just about ready to go back for round three. The treatment both times was a shot (antibiotic?) followed by 10 days of some sort of prescription ear drops. Cost: $185.00 per visit (plus the cost of the medicine). Both times the problem returned within about six months or so of the treatment. I was discussing my dog’s ear issues with a friend I met at the dog park one day and she told me about Zymox Otic Enzymatic Pet Ear Treatment. She said that it worked well for her dogs and recommended that I give it a try. So I did some research. I learned that the product is available with or without hydrocortisone. For health considerations, I decided to try the one without the hydrocortisone. I found the product on Amazon—I bought a 4 ounce bottle for around $27.00 (probably enough to treat 3 or 4 infections) and started using it as soon as I received it. I didn’t notice much improvement for a few days, but by day 4 it was apparent that Charlie’s condition was improving. I’ve been using the product according to the instructions for 10 days now and Charlie has pretty much stopped shaking his head altogether and his violent ear scratching has ceased. He’s not crazy about having drops put in his ears, but he puts up with it. Of course he gets lavished with praise and treats afterwards which makes it all okay for him! Bottom line: this stuff is amazing—reasonably priced yet effective. I will not be without it again. I live on a fixed income and really appreciate the money I save using this product! UPDATE 5/21/16: Here we are 5 months after Charlie's Zymox Ear Treatment and the symptoms have not returned. Yes, this is an amazing product!

Very satisfied with this product...so is my dog Sammy!
I waited a few weeks to see if the reviews I read before I purchased this product were true. My dog Sammy is a Black Lab and has had chronic ear infections since he jumped into a friends swimming pool when he was 2 years old...I have spent literally hundreds, if not thousands on Vet visits, cleaning solutions, and medications in the past 10 years. The fact is, some veterinarians want you to keep coming back for visits, just like Medical Dr's often do with people...more money for them and your pet continues to suffer with pain and be uncomfortable unnecessarily, and they call it "chronic"... Well I'm pleased to say that Zymox Otic works! I wish I knew this product was available 10 years ago, but then again, I trusted my Vets and I believed them. I highly recommend this product for anyone who has a dog that has been diagnosed by a "money hungry" Veterinarian that sees dollar signs instead of treating and curing your pet from a so-called "chronic ear infection"! I'm not saying all Vets are in it for the money, but there are many that are! I'm sure there are Vets out there that care about the well being of your pet, however, most Vets know that your pet is like a family member and you will do anything to cure them from an illness, save, or prolong your pets life, and the skies the limit when it comes to the cost... As a pet lover, this is a weakness I can understand, we all love our four legged friends! You would expect a knowledgeable Vet to diagnose your pet after seeing thousands of pets previously with the same symptoms without having to test for everything under the sun! I also believe that the amount of medication they supply at a Vet Visit is not enough to totally clear up the infection in the first place,(in my case 1 1/2 oz bottles), and this is why I recommend buying the 4, or 8 oz bottle of Zymox Otic to be sure you drastically limit, or totally eliminate the possibility of the ear infections from returning in just a few weeks. Most Vets charge for a visit and exam just to get a refill of the medication which I believe is not needed if your pet has been diagnosed with a chronic condition, furthermore at $40 dollars for a 1 1/2 oz bottle of ear medication...you can see how the cost can get out of control! Moreover, most of these Vets will not give you a prescription needed to get the same medicine for cheaper online, (IE: PetMeds)requires a prescription! Been there, done that! I'm done with the rant on the "bad apple" Vets out there, so all I can say is "do your homework", use the Internet and take care of your best friend! Getting back to the topic...There is one thing we must remember though...going from my experience, you must carefully, and constantly clean your dogs ears if he, or she is prone to ear infections, I use cotton balls and Q-Tips...(remember...you cant go too far into your dogs ears with q-tips or you can damage the eardrums, and cause injury or permanent deafness!) I suggest if you want to do ear cleanings on a regular basis, which is what you should be doing if your dog is prone to ear infections or loves water and loves to get wet...Do what I did...get a diagram of a dogs ear, and ear canal to prevent hurting your buddy! By the way I purchased the 4 oz. bottle "without" hydro-cortisone to treat the badly infected and inflamed ears first...treated the ears for about 4-5 days until the swelling went down and then started to remove the dirty wax, and disgusting brown crud from the infected ears using cotton balls and q-tips. It's been a few weeks now...and Sam and I are happy campers...I plan to keep up with his ear treatments as I also purchased the 8 oz bottle of Zymox Otic "with" hydro-cortisone for preventive care...Good luck...and remember..."Dogs Rock"! :o)

This product works very well when other solutions don’t. Less invasive than other products that have steroids in them. I have bought this repeatedly and will continue to use it for both my cats and dogs.

This has been the best ear cleaning product for my dogs. Before trying this I went through at least 10 different products trying to find something that helped. Now I can finally stop looking!

Sooo fricken thankful for this stuff. ChatGPT recommended it and i was just trying to hold off taking my baby to the vet if i could catch it in time. She was swimming to much in the rivers and got swimmers ear - her ear had a yeast infection or some infection from too much water. This stuff worked ammmmazing. Overnight it made a difference enough to notice. Took the smell away, and the second night she didn’t mind it at all ( it kind of bugged her the first night) , by the fifth day it was almost all clear- i followed the instructions and did it for a full week and she was back to normal with clean as whistle ears by one week. I ended up buying the cleanser from same brand and used that after as directed and she’s back to normal. So thankful for this stuff. A little expensive but it saves you a visit from the vet if it’s not a ruptured ear drum or pussing bad.
