Trauma Shears
I always thought I needed expensive shears for Trauma ICU/ED. These scissors got me through so many severe traumas. They cut through pants, bras, jackets, straps, and even shoes amazingly! I worked inner city Phoenix Trauma and these shears are amazing. Even with dressings changes, bandages, ect they cut awesome! They can be a little awkward sometimes but it’s almost not worth buying expensive shears when you have these

Ripper is unnecessary, but Shears are high quality
I ordered these shears for my away rotations in Emergency Medicine and the 1st thing I noticed was the quality. They feel sharper, sturdier and glide more smoothly than my Prestige Medical shears. The second thing I noticed was the ripper attachment: It is HUGE and makes the scissors precariously top heavy (as if I needed MORE things falling out of my lapel pocket). The Shears + Ripper fit nicely into my back scrub pocket; however, and I sit on them throughout the day, without noticing. They don't seem to mind either. The Ripper attachment is actually pretty cool. The first time I used it, I got TONS of "oohs," and, "ahhs" from nurses & residents alike. One of the shock-room techs even yelled out, "I GOT to get me one of those!" Unfortunately, (as other reviewers have reported) the ripper got clogged on a pair of bluejeans: the jean fibers got stuck in the angle between the two blades and I had to disassemble the whole thing to get it working again. This is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars. In the end, I am happy with my purchase. The shears are sharp and they look pretty bada$$. The ripper attachment works great on cotton T-shirts, khakis, and those huge envelopes of medical records EMS gives you. I just wouldn't try them on jeans, canvas or anything remotely fibrous.

Nothing special
As a paramedic, I use shears on a pretty much daily basis and figured I'd try these out for the ripper. The shears are really nothing special. Like most, they're great for the first couple of uses, then dull out. The ripper is decent, but don't be fooled by the videos the company puts out. They do not slice through any material like butter, especially the thick layers of carhartt construction attire. Clothing fibers get caught in the corner of the blades and are very difficult to remove. Most recently, I used the shears at the request of the ER doctor to cut a cravat. The shears had a great deal of difficulty getting through it, to the point that the doc told me I need a new pair. My partner handed me her Raptor and cut through it without any problem.Guess I'll be getting a raptor for Christmas!

Would recommend a pair to all you Surgical nurses out there
I work in surgery and needed a pair of handy bandage scissors. When I saw this pair and watched the YouTube demos of this in action, I just had to get my hands on this. They work as advertised. I tried it on clothes and coban. Cuts through very smoothly and SAFELY. Would recommend a pair to all you Surgical nurses out there. Awesome tool !!

Add these to your first aid kits!
They do what they are supposed to do! I enjoy the looks that I get from people who see them in action and how fast they work. Glad I have them in my mini-jump bag!

The shears are great, the clothes cutter is great
The shears are great, the clothes cutter is great; together they are bulky and difficult to stow on your gear.
