Luke and London’s story was another testament to how amazing I find their characters and their writing
Wicked Sexy Liar is the fourth book in the Wild Seasons series by the dynamic duo of Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, two writers I am a HUGE fan of. Luke and London’s story was another testament to how amazing I find their characters and their writing. I loved everything about this book from start to finish and was, as always, so sad to have finished it.Luke and London travel in the same friend circle. London is new to the crew while Luke, on the other hand, has quite a bit of history with them…and by that I mean he had pretty much spent his entire youth in love with one of the gals in their group. Not a big deal, per se, since time has gone by and he has somewhat moved on. The normal progression of life and growing up and all that jazz. All was going well until things get a bit hot and heavy between Luke and London. What started out as a deal for a one night sort of thing starts to get serious which wouldn’t be so terrible if London had known Luke’s love life history and who it was with. Suddenly Luke goes from being a potential friends-with-benefits-turned-more into way off-limits. The problem was, both Luke and London had started to develop some pretty intense feelings for each other and it wasn’t going to be an easy task to stay away from each other. Now Luke just had to convince London to give him, and what they’ve found, a chance…Now comes the challenge I run into when I review any Christina Lauren book…not just repeating “buy this book” a hundred times! There is just so much to love about Luke and London. I think the thing I loved most about both of them is how vulnerable they are under their exteriors. Luke is used to keeping things pretty light after his heart was broken. He uses woman for pleasure and has been ok with it up until now. Enter London. She’s also had her heart-broken but instead of going the route Luke did, she’s been avoiding men at the risk of another round of hurt. I couldn’t fault either of them for the way they dealt with that kind of heartache. I wanted them to get a happy ever after so terribly! I loved them together and I loved Luke’s fight for London. He was so kind and gentle with her. He saw right to the heart of her and he had me swooning more times than I can count! He is, hands down, one of my favorite book guys for how damn sweet he is. It only added to his sexiness.Christina and Lauren have such a gift in how they write their characters. Truly. From Luke’s stories of his childhood with his sister, London’s guarded emotions, the nicknames Luke calls London, the quirky dinner with Luke and his family, Luke and London’s babysitting evening to his aversion to eating two pop tarts at a time…few people can give so much depth to the people in the pages as they do. I am always in awe when I dive into one of their books.Thank you Christina and Lauren for once again writing an amazing story…and for once again giving me a book hangover. (Oh, and I’m totally skipping right over the fact that this in the last book in the series. It’s ok though because I will always look forward to what’s next from these authors.)Oh! And I have to note that I’ve been listening to Ra Ra Riot’s song “Water” on freaking repeat because it reminds me so much of Luke and London and their story and I can’t get enough!!

4 out of 5 Stars
As a huge Christina Lauren fan, I had been eagerly waiting for Wicked Sexy Liar to be released. This title is the 4th Book in the Wild Seasons , and deals with London Hughes (who has made a couple of appearances in the previous books of the series, since she is Lola’s roommate). London is a web and graphics designer by degree, but surfs during the day and tends bar at night. That’s where she meets Luke Sutter, a really cute guy who she immediately labels as a player. But why not indulge into a one-time night of good sex with him?But turns out that the tables are turned on ladies-man Luke, because with London, it’s the first time he wants a repeat, and more… But London is reluctant to engage further into what this thing with Luke could become. She knows what it’s like to get her heart broken over a cheater, and when she finally finds out about Luke’s past, there’s really no way she could ever want more from him. While Wicked Sexy Liar wasn’t the best book in the Wild Seasons series, I still liked it because the characters were unique and because for once, the male character had to fight to get a girl’s attention. I can’t tell you just how many books I’ve read where the men could just get away with the crappy player past, and the women just accepted it because - y’know – love changed them.London was weary, as she should have been, because it took Luke WAY too long to notice why she wouldn’t be head over heels for him the moment he realized he wanted more from her. And even then, she was weary that Luke was only in it for the chase, and that this was all just a game from him.It took me time to warm up to Luke because a lot of things he did just disgusted me. He had a lot of grovelling and soul-searching to do, which was interesting to witness. I also loved how London and his sister wouldn’t put up with his s***.“I want someone who makes me laugh, who challenges me, who listens to me. I want that leg within reach while I drive.”And at the same time, there was London – whom I really liked because she was real and relatable - who needed to understand that people could change, and that she shouldn’t be afraid to take chances because otherwise she could just miss out on something great. That applied to both her professional career and her love life.It was also nice to see the previous characters from the season all re-united, even though I felt that some of them were less likeable than in the previous books. All in all, even though Wicked Sexy Liar wasn’t as good as the previous books, it was a really nice read which was refreshing, engaging and with just the right amount of steam and humour.

Average
A cute story but nothing memorable. Girl and guy both had heart broken, both dealing in different ways, find each other etc etc. My issue was nothing really happened in the story it was all just a bit blah. The conflict between London and her friends was silly and I felt Luke's sister was WAY too invested in his sex life. Fine to read once wouldn't read again.

Read it twice already, love it!
I am pretty certain I am a little bit in love with this book. I read it in no time at all and I could drop everything right now and read it over again because it was just that good. This is the fourth, and contender for my favoutire, of CLo’s Wild Seasons series. It’s all about London who shares a flat with Lola, the MC from the 3rd book in the series, and another character Luke, who you might also recognise. At first I didn’t then I was like oh hell no!! when I did.Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I don’t even know where to start. Christina and Lauren have ruined me for all the other book boys. Luke is gorgeous and a perfect fit for London. They have a natural chemistry which is easy and the banter and joking flows between them alongside inevitable sexual tension. One of my favourite things about Luke and London’s relationship is their friendship because it means so much to both of them. The whole series is built on friendship and this novel is an extension of the original tight bond between Mia, Harlow and Lola.Luke, now, and London are sort of interlopers to Vegas newlyweds gang and London feels every bit of that although she is welcomed completely into the fold. There is a hesitancy on her part to get closer to Luke and it does get in the way of their relationship progressing. As always it astounds me that this book was written by two people. The writing is faultless, beautiful and enthralling, keeping you pining for the characters long after you’ve finished reading the book. It’s all about real feelings and emotions and realistic characters and situations. I found it very easy to imagine London and Luke and to invest myself in their story. I cannot wait to see what is next from these two, and I can’t wait to come over all fangirl when I meet them at RARE this year!

Another Great Story from a Fantastic Series
Sweet Filthy Boy is one of my favourite books, and both the Wild Seasons and Beautiful Series are fantastic, so I was looking forward to this. The setup is a nice tie into Mia's story from Sweet Filthy Boy because the male protagonist here - Luke - is Mia's ex. Since their painful breakup after her accident five years ago he has been into casual hookups and not interested in more... London, who is Lola's bar-tending/surfing room-mate, has her own demons when it comes to faithfulness and the male species and having been burned she is wary of relationships. It is a great, credible premise and of course the story's development is character rather than plot driven, which makes it compelling and extremely satisfying when there is a HEA. Hooray you guys - another winner. Thank you! ps - as a bonus, you get to find out Not-Joe's real name. pps - I loved Luke's family.

Another great book by Christina Lauren
Another great book by Christina Lauren. I loved London and Luke's story. They make a great couple. Loved the story and characters. London went through a lot of trust issues, but it all worked out fine in the end. Don't want to spoil the story for anyone else so I will say no more. Just one more thing is Not-Joe going too get his story that would be nice.

Ok but not the Beautiful-series level of genius
I love Christina Lauren but I just don't think the wild Seasons series was as good as the Beautiful series. I could practically feel the parallels between the characters in WS & Beautiful series and it just didn't seem like I was reading anything new. I wasn't hooked as I usually am with CL's books and felt like I was just reading it because I'd paid for it. Whilst the story was good I felt myself constantly comparing it to the Beautiful series and realising it doesn't compare to that masterpiece.
