Great duck poop tea!
Really good tea! If you are interested in trying a dancong or Phoenix oolong tea this is definitely a good place to start! I brewed 4 g in a preheated 4 oz Gaiwan with boiling water and steeped for a minute, adding 15 seconds each brew. The second brew was my favorite and very sweet and honey nectar flavor and distinctive of duck poop tea. Very delicious. Even on the 5th steep, it was still very flavorful. Will be ordering this again in the future!

Genuine Ya Shi Xiang, but bitter
My favorite tea is Yunnan Sourcing's "King of Ya Shi Xiang" tea, which is the same variety as this, but costs about 3 times as much. I bought this to see if I could get a cheaper alternative. Results are mixed. The bag is almost entirely whole tea leaves, which is good, and they are the same color, shape, and smell as my favorite tea. One thing I did notice immediately though was that the entire inside of the bag, and every leaf in it, is coated in a fine layer of tea leaf dust. Brewing the tea gave the exact same pleasant aroma as my more expensive version so I am confident that this is in fact the genuine thing. The taste is not quite there though. The good flavors are not quite as strong as I expect, and there is a strong bitterness that should not be there. I think the bitterness is mainly due to the tea dust I mentioned earlier. I have tried rinsing the leaves prior to brewing to remove the dust, and this helps a little, but isn't a complete solution. Overall I suspect this is the genuine article, but is probably an older harvest that can no longer be sold at higher prices. The good flavors have faded somewhat, and the tannins have taken over the flavor profile to make a more bitter, less pleasant taste. Still, at 1/3rd the price it may be worth considering, though I probably won't be buying it again.

The name got me curious
The name got me curious, and I ended up pleasantly surprised. Full-bodied creamy texture with honey and gardenia fragrance.
