Is this a clone of another knife?

Probably not a clone.....Never seen a design like this.....I recommend the knife. If you don't like it, Amazon is good about free returns.

Could the handle of this knife withstand the dishwasher?

G10 handles are very tough and should easily handle a dishwasher However, D2 steel is a tool steel very strong but not entirely rust proof. If you do put in dishwasher, dry off afterwards and maybe put some food grade oil on the blade

Is this real D2 steel?

If D2 steel is very heavy, than this is genuine. It weighs about 50% more than a similarly sized and shaped blade that is also SS, but I forget which composition.
