My wife and I bought this after our old weather station died and it turned out the LaCross Technology unit we replaced it with was not battery-powered. This weather station's temperature and humidity readings seem accurate, it's easy to read, battery-powered, and reasonably priced. It really fits the bill.We like having our weather station next to our coat closet. After all, when we go to the coat closet, which jacket we grab really depends on how cold it is outside. There is no outlet on that wall -- and it would be ugly to run a cord up to the weather station if there was -- so getting a battery-powered unit was a must for us.Setup was pretty easy, but I had two minor problems. First, I somehow turned on the alarm feature, and the alarm went off at midnight for a few nights in a row until I reset the alarm time and sat down at a more reasonable time of data to read the manual and figure out how to turn it off. The other problem I was, while trying to reset the alarm, I changed the setting that tells the unit whether our remote was set to one, two, or three. At first I thought the remote had died . . . it took a day to figure it out.A note on batteries: The batteries for this system are not included. You'll need 2 "AAA" batteries for the base unit and 2 "AA" batteries for the remote. We try to use NiMH rechargeable batteries when we can but found these units really need the extra "oomph" of regular alkaline.Pros:* The display is very readable.* There's a button on top that turns a backlight on for a few seconds so you can read it in the dark.* Runs on batteries. No plug-in required.* Nice size. Not too big, not too small.* Reasonably priced.Cons:* The instructions are a little opaque and hard to understand, particularly when it comes to turning the alarm off.

In spite of the product description and answered questions, this doe not have an auto set atomic clock! Download the manual and see that it has no provisions for even setting the time zone...Someone somewhere has their product information incorrect. Probably won't return, but very disapointed!

My old indoor/outdoor thermometer died on me so I got this one. It is easy to read with the backlight and the letter/numbers are large. Nice thermometer for the price.

Update: originally liked it very much (see below). Outdoor sensor stopped working after 2 months. New batteries, reset, nothing works. Unreliable. Buy another brand.Original review: Very easy to set up and appears to be accurate temperature both inside and outside. The humidity readings are great to have. The display reads easily and the built-in stand for the main unit works well. Glad I read other reviews to see that it’s delivered with alarm on (shut that off right away!) and the inside temp will be affected if you handle the main unit, but goes to correct temp once set down. The instructions are clear, but be sure to read them!

This is a great little weather station. My parents have had a weather station for years, and finally the last remote sensor for their system failed.I considered many different models before arriving at this one. I recruited my mother's assistance with the final selection because, while this is going to be a birthday gift for my father, the base was going to be on a kitchen counter, so this needed to be appealing to my mom, as well.This unit works well, is discreet and easy to set up (it took me about three minutes once the batteries were installed).This a great value and I highly recommend it.

It was VERY confusing to do the initial set up for this BALDR Wireless Indoor Outdoor Thermometer Digital Hygrometer with Weather Forecast and Large LCD (White). I tried to find the instructions by google-searching (couldn't find any). I played around with the buttons to try & "crack the code"...but nothing. Very frustrating! For me AND my wife, because this unit is for the kitchen. THEN I watched the "Set Up Video" in the upper left hand corner of this Amazon page. The video walks you through it! It's still a little tricky (not as easy as, say, LaCrosse products), but I finally was able to do it. Now I get date, time, inside temp, outside temp....and everyone is happy!

It is large enough to easily read from 4 feet away. There is a small icon on the top that will show a sun, clouds , rain but not wind speed or the icon for wind. It has an alarm for some reason that we accidentally set and heard it beeping at 12 midnight. Still not sure how we touched the button to set that but so far that is the only negative we have with this. It has a nice light you can tap which lights up the background for contrast.

I was so excited to purchase an affordable outdoor weather station. It worked for about a week when I noticed the outdoor temp reading went blank. I changed the batteries thinking it was that. I noticed a day or two later it stopped working again. I started a return it and suddenly it started working again. It worked until a day after my cancel window closed. It’s garbage and I’m so disappointed. I should’ve read the reviews. I usually do!
