Rasp is very sharp and work well, durable and removes material fast. My use is for wood shaping.
Well made rasp excellent for shaping wood and plastic as well as non ferrous metal. I would not use it on steel.

Workhorse in my shop
I make wooden spoons from apple, walnut and cherry wood, and I use the file more than any other I have for roughing to smoothing out. I don't know what I would do without it!

Handy File everyone should have
Handy and well made file for the toolbox. Good selection of file types all in one easily stored file. A keeper.

Don't use it on steel..
These files have gotten just crappy enough where you can't use it for any steel or other ferrous metal, but works on other stuff like wood or plastic or soft metals. I used it one time to sharpen my hoe (Rouge tools hoe), it actually has a sharpened blade and I wanted to just touch it up after hitting some rock while using the tool and the flat side of the file didn't even make a difference in the hoe edge. It just melted again the steel of a garden hoe...

Piece of crap from Mexico. My old worn out Nicholson 4 way (Made in the USA) cuts better that this. Smooth rasp side will shave a bit of soft wood but just burnishes hardwood. Waste of money.
