I dunno what it is but it isn't Calamus
I did extensive research on Calamus and every article and perfumery blog I read said Calamus has a warm, woodsy scent with a hint of spice, cinnamon. This stuff, I have no idea what the stuff in the bottle is as it smelled like moldy athletic socks and fermented sweat. It was a nauseating odor that was offensive to the sense of smell. I immediately returned it for a refund.

Bad bottle or just smells terrible?
I admit I did not know what this scent smelled like before buying but I had to throw it away. Literally made me gag. I don’t know if it’s supposed to smell like that or if it had gone bad. Just going to skip this scent for now.

Greenwood oil helps my pain.
Greenwood’s do an array of essential oils, and I found because of the random names and write up, which is very good, I needed certain oils for health myself. So here we have 15ml bottle, a few drops will go far. Nice amber bottle and looks nice in the bathroom. I like that the oil is 100% pure and natural, not tested on our fur babies, it’s vegan alcohol free and solvent free. Please DO NOT use neat on the skin. This oil has to be mixed with a carrier oil, such as Sweet Almond Oil, Emulsion ( brand name not paint) emollient with added oils in the product, Emu Oil great to use on its own for arthritis pain and adding oil makes a lovely moisturiser. I also use Cetreban as a carrier for Greenwood oils. I use with other Greenwood oils and cetraben in my bath, or on my skin and face with a carrier. It’s also a nice idea to use in a diffuser. On the directions online it does states precisely how many drops should be used.Priced presently £12.48 a little expensive to some oils, but I have had these oils before, and so well worth the price for a good oil.Helps reduce pain, I use for my neck, back, hands, fingers. I do not use for the smell, but the useful properties this oil has. Very calming oil.Thank you to the sellerPlease tick if you found my review helpful, kind regards

Natural sedative, relaxing
Due to the beta asarone content, the oil should not be used by anyone at home & I was advised to use in very small amounts in a diffuser only. DO NOT USE ON SKIN OR INTERNALLY.Upon research, it contains high levels of ketone, which is quite potent. Many people are saying to not use at home, & it's mainly used in perfumery thus I'm wondering why they're selling it?It is supposed to smell like cinnamon but it does not. It has a rather pungent scent which puts me off using it. This is not the fault of the seller however. I will NOT use it on my skin, nor do I recommend anyone does. I have put 2-3 drops in a diffuser BEFORE SLEEP & it made me very relaxed & helped me sleep! As it's supposed to be sedative & hallucinogenic. The health benefits of Calamus Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, antibiotic, cephalic, circulatory, memory boosting, nervine, stimulant, and tranquilizing.

Good quality
Calamus essential oil is one of those I always treat with care. It can be used for certain things in aromatherapy, for instance, circulation problems and stomach ailments. However, if pregnant, or having heart problems, it must not be used. That said, I use it in perfume and soap making, in small batches, where the effects are negligible. The oil is a good medium consistency, has a golden tinge, and smells delightfully woody. It mixes well with other essential oils to make perfume, and doesn't clog or lose odour when used in soap making. And a little goes a long way, so it is good value.
