Been using for little over a year.
Bought this 3018 little over a year ago and have been very happy with the performance. At first without any experience on a cnc or laser I didn't use it much. I'm still learning a lot every time I use it but a lot of my initial fears went away after I realized it wasn't near as hard as it seems. Software is easy to use and the more I use it the more I find that it can do. Initial setup of the machine isn't hard just take your time and get it right and there are a lot of you tube videos on putting together a 3018. Recently my laser stopped working and I contacted support and after a couple of emails back and forth I received a new laser. Support was very helpful and easy to work with. After a year I would definitely buy this machine again. Now looking forward to making some upgrades and doing more.

A solid entry level CNC/Laser engraver
Out of the box, this is a collection of parts with some fairly basic instructions. Most folks should be able to follow along, although there are a few things I wish they'd done to make the assembly a touch easier. The biggest issue is the instruction to mount the upper bakelites "46.5mm" from the rear end of the Y axis aluminum brackets. It would have been very helpful if the brackets were etched or otherwise marked at 46.5mm to save some time aligning. It's pretty important that the bakelites are installed at this distance to ensure that the aluminum bed you secure your product to is all within the engravable area. It's also important that they both sides are as close to the same distance apart to ensure that the X axis is moving across a true horizontal path without excess friction. After assembly, I found the unit to be slow and lots of grinding chatter could be heard as you move the x and y axis. Here's a tip I found on one of the many many groups dedicated to using the 3018 machine: Start with the Y axis: Loosen the nuts on both ends of the guide rods (the two rods on each side of the screw), as well as the aluminum brackets on the Y axis (not too loose, but enough that the machine is not tight. Jog the Y motor forward until it won't go any further, and tighten the front screws. Jog the Y motor to the back of the table until it won't go any further and tighten the rear screws. This will effectively ensure that both guide rods are perfectly aligned with the screw for smoother travel. Smoother travel means you can increase the maximum speeds and accelerations of your motors (google this part for an explanation of how to fine tune the GRBL controller). Do the same thing for the X axis, loosening the guide rods and the aluminum pieces on the top part of the bakelites. Do not loosen the bolts at the lower part of the bakelites connecting to the Y axis aluminum. Jog all the way left, tighten, then all the way right, and tighten. The software that comes bundled with the router is not the best, and there is no Cad/Cam software included for the spindle, only a program to transfer GCode to the GRBL controller module. LaserGRBL is included, a free program for engraving with the Laser. It wasn't hard to find design software online.Don't expect the performance of a high end CNC machine, this is an open-source design meant for home users and hobbyists who want to get their feet wet in engraving. That being said, this machine is pretty solid once it's assembled and tuned up. There are relatively inexpensive upgrades out there.

Could be way
I like it, it’s cool and the laser is very detailed and easy to use. The router part though… the software is wonky, definitely needs an updated version.Zeroing on either setup isn’t too complicated once you get used to it.Getting the depths set and all that… that can be a bit tricky.Issues I’ve had from the get go; came with a bad usb cable, fan on the laser control board stopped working after about 2 hours.I ended up buying a new cord and made a small box with a larger fan to house both laser and router control panels.

Easy setup and software
The media could not be loaded. Not sure what's with the negative comments. Instruction book told you how to assemble and use software. You have to have some kinda technical knowledge like read electrical diagrams and knowledge of software. Everything you possibly could need to get started is included.

JUNK
It is a piece of JUNK. Don't waste your money on it really.

Ugh?
So I started putting this together and all was good right up until I started putting together the top and the holes are about 1/16th inch off. Hopefully... When the replacement shows up I can grab the new one out of the box and finish putting this together. Its for sure a quality control issue that was a result of something not being clamped down properly the rest of the holes line up. The holes for the servo are off from the locating hole. Will update review after replacement arrives and I can actually get to use the machine.OK so the machine is together now and now comes the fun part.... Trying to figure it all out. This thing is fairly straightforward to put together. The most annoying part is that the side frame profiles have no marking for the 46.5mm you need to space them forward this isn't a major issue I got out my calipers and measured it out.The first few things I'm going to be doing is making new parts for this thing to expand on the size. All in all the machine seems to be fairly solid. It like many Chinese machines seem to use a ton of off the shelf parts which is great it let's you have the ability to replace and upgrade them quite easily and cheaply. For all the comments about it being junk. You bought a 200$ cnc machine/laser engraver. If you're expecting some professional 5000$ machine quality you're nuts.I'm sure like my 3d printers this machine will function fantastic and allow me to make my own parts with it to upgrade. My only complaint presently is that while mounting the controller the holes are literally smaller than the threads for the screws supplied. There also wasn't any screws or mounting instructions for the laser or controller for that which I zip tied to the back next to the machine controller.I still have to setup my offline controller and I think I'm gonna find some cnc software for my raspberry pi3 and use that mostly. Will post more updates down the road after I play with this for a bit.

Seems good
Took a little time to assemble with my sausage fingers, but it seems to work great! I had a faulty part which the seller quickly helped to replace. Highly recommend for a beginner like myself

Great machine! Incredible service!
This is really cool machine. I'm used to 3D printer but beginner with CNC, but it's easy to assemble. The software and documentation are easy too. I tried the lazer and it's working great, but I need to install ventilation as there was much smoke in the house. I had set it a little too strong, but it did a great job, hehe. The seller will help you and answer all your question. Really great machine and really great service. Nice for beginners but probably good for advanced users too. Thanks!

Easy to assemble.
After I assembled it I had to take it to a professional to see why I am having problems with the stepper motors and why the controls are backwards. Have not contacted the manufacturer yet incase I did something wrong in the assembly. I am a total beginner so it can be a bit frustrating.

The instructions are not very good at all
The unit is much smaller than described online, instructions were not very clear. There is nothing that explains where the wiring goes so you have to play a guessing game.all in all very disappointed with this purchase
