Instant Success!!
With there being no reviews of this product before I bought it - I was reasonably Leary.. I read other reviews of similar products and decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! We have had a growing problem with Coyotes over the past month or so - to the point where I was having trouble telling the difference between the dog poo, and coyote..... there was THAT much, and they were getting bolder and bolder. Every night I've gone out after dark and have done my best to scare them away - only to be woken up in the middle of the night with their howling. Not last night tho! I received the package late in the day, and decided to try 3 lights in the location they were coming from most. Result? Nothing.... Nothing meaning - there weren't any Coyotes at all last night! With only a few hours solar charge on the units -they kept those critters at bay, and we had a peaceful nights sleep - the first in a long time. I just placed the other 5 in various locations around the property (5 acres) and am counting on continued success. I check reviews before I buy - and if you're like me I stay away when someone has a bad review. If we were friends, I tell you to buy this - it's well worth it.

Undecided
Our deer come during the day to eat our flowers and shurbs so these don't work in daylight. Since our yard is pitch black at night can't say if they work at night.

Waste of money
Pretty sad that these things will not hold a charge sufficient to keep them lit all night. Even when I let them charge in bright direct sunlight for 3 days, they still will not stay lit all night. Only useful if the predators you want to keep away "go to bed early". I think they might last longer if they slowed down the blink rate and were not quite so bright. I charged them for 3 full days (December so, short days) before using them the first time. I noticed they went dark before sunrise. After two days I shut them off. Then moved them so they could be "aimed directly at the sun" for 3 days again to charge Had bright sunshine for those 3 days. Put them back in position where they still had full exposure to the daylight but not "angled toward the sun". There is no way these will operate as described "all night" in this part of the country (Northern Illinois).

Pro: It Works; Con: They stop Working
This was the first year we didn't have problems with deer eating the garden. The garden is about 1/4 acre so there is a lot of tempting food.On the other hand; We bought a 8 pack, one was DOA, others lasted most of the summer but by winter only two were still working.I could try a different brand next year, but after reading reviews this seems to be par for the course.I rated them 4 stars because they did do the job for a year.

These do not light all night long. Still useful.
These do not light all night long. The stop blinking even though it is still dark in the morning hours. Still useful. They do keep animals away.

Coyote
I have used different types of these to add protection for my goat lot...I can hear the coyote but never seen one on my land...I do believe these to work because I have had no deer or raccoons since I installed....Honestly, this is not my favorite brand but you get what you pay for...they are not as long lived as some brands but I also have motion detecting flood lights and an electric strand on top to the fencing so if one of these die, its not too much stress to wait on another delivery...otherwise, as I said, I believe them to work even though this brand seems to "blink" in an urealistic timeframe...( too fast).

Not useful. But maybe?
Don't seem to deter raccoons at all. They pass by them as if they aren't there.UpdateThat was early on. I've used these and other additional methods to deter these raccoons, so I don't know which has had the most effect. But they've stopped visiting.

Wow! Work better than expected!
There is a game trail on the property next door to us. We had a constant parade of animals going through every night - javelina, raccoons, skunks, coatimundi, and coyotes! We have medium size dogs and I was terrified the coyotes would get one of them. We ordered the solar powered deer chasers. Directions said to put them at eye level for the animal we were trying to send on their way. We went from at least 10 animals every night going through to one maybe every other night! I am still careful with our pups, but I sure feel a lot safer. Highly recommend as a another layer of protection.
