Deluxe = Wide seat, stability and adjustability.
I got the deluxe and the regular stool with the back rest. The deluxe is definitely worth it. Returned the stool. Stools ok but feels like the seat is small and you sit up high it’s not bad just ok. But the deluxe was really nice. I like the wider seat you feel like it’s more stable than the stool and the adjustability is great. Just make the upgrade you won’t be disappointed. If you need something portable maybe the stool but otherwise just go with the deluxe. Overall the deluxe just feels more stable, comfortable, and more customizable. Also the foot rest on the deluxe is perfect compared to the regular stool. Just overall better and worth the extra price IMHO. Only drawback the seat feels a little stiff but it’s new I expect it to wear in. I still give it 5 stars.

None better for the price but not much competition
I got this for my acoustic gigs where I'm sitting & playing for hours. I was previously using a cheap Walmart folding stool with no back rest and my back was hurting bad at the end of the gig. I've been eyeing this one up for a while and even was able to try one in Guitar Center last year but couldn't justify the $100. I saw one of these came up for cheaper as an open box and since I have a lot of gigs booked this summer I went for it.The quality feels pretty good and I think it's comfortable, although I can't speak much on that yet until I have gigs all night with it. The guitar rest is a nice convenient feature as well. I thought I might remove it but I'm finding it handy for when I need to put my guitar down for a moment. I still take proper stands to a gig because there is no way to secure the neck on the seat. A velcro strap would have been a great addition here. The height is just right and the back rest is somewhat adjustable. The cons? First off, the foot rest is too small for my big feet (size 13 shoes) and can only fit one foot at a time. That means having to stay in one position for many hours, which is never ideal. A larger footrest would be welcomed. It's not the easiest to fold up and takes some struggle to get it right. Maybe I just haven't gotten it down just yet. The backrest also squeaks a lot while it pivots and gets annoying, I'll have to oil it with WD40 or something similar because I can hear it while I'm playing. I wish the backrest folded in somehow but I can see how it wouldn't be as sturdy.Overall if you need a folding chair for extended playing and travel, this is probably your best bet without spending hundreds, but then again I don't really see many options out there so choices are limited. Hopefully it holds up and hopefully this review helps someone. I'll try and update it after a lot of use.

Heavy-duty (and just heavy, too)
As a solo performer, it’s always a crapshoot what kind of seating will be available at bars and other venues. Yes, I’ve been taking our own kitchen stools occasionally, and a few venues have great barstools that I can and do use. But I wanted to get something that was sturdy, well-built, comfortable and would last a long, long time. This is it.After 5-6 months of use at home and on gigs, it’s a comfortable and easy-to-adjust seat, with also-adjustable footrests. Built like a tank, too.But carrying it is not for the faint of heart. I can handle it, but it can be a little clumsy; I do wish the seat could be broken down, or dissembled a bit, to make carrying/loading easier. It sucks up a bit of space in the back of my Explorer, and I’ve learned to live with that, in exchange for the sturdiness and comfort.I like this seat a lot. I’d like it more if it were a bit less bulky and inflexible.

Works great for me !
This stool met all of my requirements as a solo act. Comfort, stability, and sturdiness. I am 5'11" and the foot rest is at the perfect height and I can actually use it with either foot to change positions. At first I was concerned because my foot was really uncomfortable after the first 1/2 of use, but then I realized, I only had socks on. With shoes, there is no discomfort at all. Overall I am completely satisfied with the stool and it is easy to fold to take on a gig. I don't always use the back rest, but it is nice to have. I do have to extend it as far as it goes to be comfortable with it. I do not use the guitar stand part and will probably take it off, although it is a good idea and works well. I prefer to us my own stand.

One of the best guitar accessories I have ever bought
I worked at a music store for a number of years and saw many Gator products. I was always impressed with their high quality and this is no different. I have severe adult degenerative scoliosis and as one of the consequences have chronically tight hamstrings which makes it painful to sit on several surfaces. I play guitar for my Church and was using a wooden stool with little cushion. It was getting too painful to use it and I needed to find something else to use. I did a lot of research and thankfully found this one. It has a very well cushioned seat and is very stable and well built. I seldom use the attached guitar stand as I sit through the whole service. However I felt comfortable leaving my guitar in it the few times that I did. The only ding I would give it is that the rubber tubing that is used for protecting the guitar when it does sit in the stand wasn't cut too accurately and so the tubing came off easily. A little bit of superglue took care of that problem. I wholeheartedly recommend this product. Edited 10-06-23 The stool folds very easily and is compact and easy to carry. It securely holds a Taylor 12-fret 12 string as well as myself and it is stable. I'm about 5 ft 7 inches.
