I was looking for a good resource for working with children experiencing excessive anger. This is a great little book.

An anger buster
As a play therapist, I needed something to help me work effectively with angry children. It was referred to me by a co-worker so I ordered it. The price was right and the contents was absolutely just what I wanted, needed, and oh so glad I have it. The lessons are short, easy to use with children, and the activities keep the children engaged in therapy. I love it. Amazing how quick the book shipped, it was brand new, packed really well, and this is how shopping should be.

Every counselor should have this book for reference
I purchased this book when I got a divorce. I knew it would be hard on my 5 year old and I wanted to give her as much support as I possibly could. This book was amazing in helping my daughter work thru issues. I am happy to say that she is fairly well adjusted and give this book partial credit. She is now 8 and this books still sits on her bookshelf for whenever she may need it.

Aimed toward 6+ kids
A Volcano in My Tummy: Helping Children to Handle Anger While this book does have some universal information that is useful, the primary objective seems to be aimed at class room environment for 6 to 10 year olds. I ordered this book when my boy was 3.5. So I couldn't make use of the lessons and activities. When my son gets a bit older it might be helpful even just at home. I read the book and it helped me think about my own anger and maybe gave me some ammo for dealing with his anger. But a better book I found was "What to do when your temper flares". That book gave us images of anger that were tangible. For example it likened allowing anger to run rampant is like driving a car. You have to learn how to drive and you have to learn how to handle anger. Even tho my boy is too young to drive he understood the concept immediately. This other book also says: It isn't what happens that makes you mad it's what you THINK about what happened that determines how you feel.In a group setting the lessons would be combined with class discussions but they don't lend themselves well to story time reading material. It isn't a bad book it just doesn't suit our needs. If you are a teacher or home schooler this might be just the thing.

Perfect for children with anger issues!
This has been awesome for my daughter. Her therapist and I have been going through it with her and it’s really been helping her.

The first 4 pages were helpful...
I bought this book to help with my four year old and the introduction was great, however the book is really more useful for older kids. In my opinion this book is much more useful for kids 6 and up and for for educators in particular. I will save it for later. It just doesn't give me enough tools to use right now which is why I bought it.

If you have an angry child, this book is for you!
Recommended to me by a friend who is a teacher and specialises in Early Year Learning. It's a fabulous book with lots of activities you can do with your children as individuals or in groups and contains lots of useful tips on how to deal with different situations.Very easy to read and understand, and has activities for 6 to 13 year olds.

Useful lessons
I am a school counselor and these lessons are great. Can be used typically K-5th and most of the worksheets as well. Some are for older students, but you can tweak what you need. I already used one of the lessons today for my 5th grade anger management group!

Awesome Book!!
This is a great guidebook on how to teach children to properly channel anger without breaking things, being nasty to others, or harming others. Lots of great stories and fun activities for kids to engage in ~ Good directions for the Adults running the show on how to best direct the exercises. If you have a child, or adult friend who has trouble with anger, this is a great book!!

Interesting
As a newly qualified teacher within special educational needs, I ordered this so I help a student who was finding their anger difficult to control. This book came with lesson plans and templates as well as tips on how to deliver the lesson.I found it great use when working in secondary mainstream and even use it not that I’ve moved into Primary SEN.

Very good for children and inner child.
I bought this book to read through for myself. It comes from a point of view of a teacher or parent helping their child/ren with anger but I found it helpful myself as well. Very plain English and very easy to absorb.
