VELUX Original Roof Window Blackout Blind for MK06, Grey, with White Guide Rail

When I had to start using my loft as a home office, I soon realised that the afternoon sun was going to turn my workspace into a plasterboard lined oven.After the blind arrived, I quickly realised the 1st instruction was to clip the roller assembly on to 2 brackets on the original velux window frame, and to my disbelief those brackets had been removed from the frame well before we moved into the house.One quick email and call to Velux in Glenrothes sorted that out quickly (they were superb to deal with) and now I have my replacement brackets installed and my blind installed to.The instructions are idiot proof and well illustrated, and the Velux design makes it easy to guide each component in to place.Owing to the inherent angles involved in a slanted roof window frame, and the size and position of some screws, it's not a walk in the park to fit. Easy enough but you need a bit of suppleness in the back and a bit of finger strength to get the job finished.Asides from those slightly awkward positions, its installed in no time and my plasterboard oven loft now had a solid sun screen. Couldn't be happier. Thanks velux.

Very nice premium product that fits my Vellex windows perfectly. It was easy to fit in about 5 to 10 minutes and blends seamlessly with the existing window to give a good finish. The thermal blinds that I fitted are very good and cut out a great deal of heat it would otherwise flood our loft room. They also provide a complete blackout aside from a very thin sliver of lightThey are quite expensive but good value for money considering the reviews for the other products show poor fit.

This blind is made by Velux so is designed to fit your window. Pay attention to the model/size codes to order the correct blind. Well made product with a colour scheme to match your room. Has a metallic outer finish to reflect the sun when deployed and this should hopefully stop the blind from fading as my last non Velux one did.The promotional info makes it look like you only need to clip the blind into place, but you will need to use some DIY skills to fit. The side runners and clips need to be screwed into the window frame but all the screws and driver are included. I am not skilled at DIY but managed to fit the whole assembly in about half an hour. The instructions are illustrations only and take a couple of readings to understand. Written notes to the pictures would have been useful, but those of you used to picture info like Ikea will probably find it easy. Once you have done one it would be easy enough to fit another in half the time! The angle of my rooflight and it's location made it tricky to get at but obviously some will be much easier. A good product and works very well, can be deployed by any amount to suit light coming in and when closed gives almost total blackout. Recommended.

The product feels of much better quality than others I have tried. Installing is also way easier. Read the instructions first though and don't remove anything till you do. My gripe us that other products feature a self roll spring mechanism so you push blind handle away and it gently self retracts. This is useful when window is out of reach with pole. This doesn't which makes using product when high up difficult...... But not impossible

very good quality.you ask what we use the product for.well since it is a Velux original blackout blind is it not rather obvious ?it's a sex toy.

I am so impressed with these blinds. They are total blackout, no light gets around the edge and they were so simple to install. I did 2 of them in less than an hour. They look so professional, I’m glad I went with velux originals.

What can i say have bought 4 now. Fit like a dream. Anyone can fit this so easy read instructions id say 30 mins max to fit and work like a dream too. Dont buy cheap buy these

A brilliant product in all respects. Beautifully manufactured, really easy to fit (the first one took about 25 minutes, the second one about 10 minutes). Superb blackout features, the room is pitch black when the blind is drawn! Great price and superb service from supplier. Highly recommended.
