Update - 10/27/2018 So I've had these for almost exactly 2 years and they are finally ready to be replaced. Always comfy on my feet, with or without socks. A good pair of slippers for a decent price. When I originally got them they cost about 8 dollars less then they do now. Considering all the dog walks on sidewalks these endured, and all the time spent on a cement patio and cement pool deck, and all the running around I did in them, I got my $$$ worth.So I've had these for 5 months, and if I'm home, they're on my feet. They have some signs of wear but there is still plenty of tread on the bottoms. Not bad considering I spend a lot of time on a cement patio. Also taking out the trash, and the occasional trip to the store. So they get worn a lot and only show medium wear after 5 months. That's pretty good considering the price.SIZE- I wear a 9 1/2 so I got a size 10. Good fit when new but as the lining gets compressed and they stretch a little they get loose. Not a real problem since you can just tighten the lace, but it shows the size was spot on, (at least in my case). Also the slightly loose fit let's me comfortably wear them with or without socks.COMFORT- Not much to say here except they are really comfy.CONS- There is something in the plush lining (fake fur or whatever you want to call it) that made my feet smell so bad, and I mean clear out the room bad. I've never had stinky feet in my life so this freaked me out a little. It went away after 2-3 weeks but it was pretty bad while it lasted. So I knocked a star off my rating for the unwarranted vicious assault on my olfactory gland.

The GOOD news is that these things will keep your feet incredibly warm. The other day while being bundled up during a snowstorm outside I was feeling comfortably warm while wearing them and decided to kick them off. IMMEDIATELY my feet started to freeze. These things were doing its job. If you have REALLY cold feet, wear these in conjunction with merino wool boot socks (Amazon won't allow me to mention outside vendors, but the best ones I've found comes from a company that rhymes with "Bell Bell Lean") and your feet will feel like they're in electric blankets.The BAD news is that these are exclusively winter shoes, and you really need to wear socks with these things. If you wear them barefoot or during the summer your feet will become sweaty and moisture will build up inside the shoe (the lining is faux acrylic shearling, not real shearling, which is the reason why I am subtracting a star) and it will eventually smell ghastly. It has nothing to do with the shoe. Any piece of clothing worn nonstop will absorb your sweat and it will eventually smell bad. I just bought my third pair because I didn't learn that lesson with the first two pairs. Even then, expect maybe two or three years worth of usage out of these before you have to throw them away for being a biohazard. Switch to a different pair of slippers during the summer months.

I was heartbroken when my old ones fell apart. I just had to find the same ones. Mine were given to me by my mom that past away 9 years ago so no idea where she got them from buy I'm guessing not on line. Not only did I find them here on Amazon but they were perfectly the same ,same inner fury inner lining same color same fit .... when they arrived I put them side by side to compare and everything including how inside them on was perfect. I was pleased and felt the price I got it at was reasonable. My old ones were so old the rubber dried out between my weight and use over the years . They held up great must of been like 20 years old maybe older. Great item

I am shocked over the negative reviews. I wear a size 12D in sneakers and shoes and that is what I ordered. Not only are they a perfect fit, but they actually fit better than all of my other shoes! If I could wear these all my waking hours, I would. I absolutely love them! I have definitely found a new brand to finally stick with after trying Minnetonka, Perry Ellis, Nunn Bush, and a couple of others. These are by far my most favorite and I just hope that Old Friend doesn't stop producing them. That is usually what happens after I find something I truly like. It's Summer time and I wear them without socks and my feet don't sweat much in them. Because I wear them so much, I would not be disappointed if they only lasted 6 months to a year. For 40 bucks, it's definitely worth it. The name couldn't be more spot on. Lastly. If you look at my profile you will see that although I purchase a lot of items from Amazon, I don't often give reviews. I couldn't resist with these. You will love them!

I purchased through Amazon warehouse, this made it affordable. It is the slipper I remember from my teenage years(45 years ago). The changes are the lace is nylon rather leather., and the lining is man made rather than wool fleece. Even with the changes this is a good product. Only wish someday it would be made in the US, would be willing to pay for the higher labor cost.

No arch support

Chestnut color has a pink tint. That is the only reason for not giving these slippers a 5 star rating.

I've had these for daily wear for about 6 months. I think they're well made. I had to do a minor repair on one as the thread that holds the top front and sides together began to unravel. Easy fix. Do not use them outside or on a rough surface.

I can see these being a bit warm if you wear them all day. They look great and seem well-made though. I wear them on and off and overall I'm happy. Good slippers are hard to find! Had mine a shade less than a year.

Looks like sheepskin, but doesn't have same characteristics. Therefore, it gets a 3 star.
