Well built phone
I bought this for my dad's birthday. He wanted this flip phone for the larger buttons and the emergency response button. He's 91 years old and it gives me peace of mind knowing he has it. The phone is as described. The first thing I noticed right out of the box was the weight. Very heavy phone compared to the flip phone he has from tmobile. I can see from that it is very well made, but the weight may be a problem for him carrying it in his pocket compared to the light, cheaper phone he has now. But, I'm sure he'll get used to it. In his area, he'll be using Verizon as the service provider. As I said before, he is on t-mobile now, we'll see how that works out. That's about all I can say right now, as I haven't set it up for him yet. But, the it seems to be a well built, quality phone, with the larger screen and bigger buttons. It was packaged well and delivered quickly.

BASIC SIMPLE PHONE
THIS IS A BASIC PHONE WITHOUT A LOT OF FEATURES I WOULD HAVE PUT ON THIS PHONE IF I MADE IT. BATTERY LIFE IS FAIR , EASY TO SEE , NO DROPPED CALLS, USES VERIZON NETWORK, CHARGES FAST. I HAVE 2 OF THESE PHONES AND TOOK THE LOWEST PRICED PLAN #14.99 X 2. I HAD TO CALL TO SET UP PHONE AND GET SOME FEATURE ENABLED ON THE PHONE TO GET THE #14.99 PRICE. MY TOTAL BILL FOR 2 PHONES WITH TAXES IS ABOUT $47 TO $48 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR TALK AND TEXT. I AM NOT GEEK JUST NEED A BASIC PHONE. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER R K

Jitterbug Quality
Phone itself is alright. Service from Lively leaves room for improvement. Quality of phone: Value for money only, as sound quality lacking and not compatible because Lively or Jitterbug won't allow.

Complete Disaster for Elderly Users – AVOID This Phone!
Complete Disaster for Elderly Users – AVOID This Phone! I regret upgrading my 92-year-old mother’s flip phone to this “new and improved” version. The previous model worked perfectly for her—she could simply open the phone and it would ask, “Who do you want to call?” She would say a name, it would confirm, and then dial. Simple and effective, exactly what she needed. This “upgrade” is a nightmare. Instead of keeping the user-friendly, straightforward design, this phone now tries to force the use of Alexa as a "smart" assistant. The setup process alone is a maze. You have to link the phone to an Amazon account, then connect it to the Alexa Lively Skill, log into Lively, name the phone, and then go back to the phone and finish the linking. Even after completing all these steps, the Alexa skill might work some of the time, but only if you give a convoluted command like, “Alexa, ask Lively to call...” and then finally say the name. This is beyond frustrating for a tech-averse elderly person! This phone is supposed to be designed for people who don’t want, or cannot deal with, complicated technology. But it’s riddled with issues. After spending three hours on the phone with Lively tech support, I managed to get it working… for about 10 minutes. Then it inexplicably stopped. I called support again, and we had to unlink and relink everything. It worked—for a short time—only to stop again. This phone is absolutely unreliable. To make matters worse, when we tried to revert back to her old phone, we learned that Lively no longer supports it! So now we’re stuck with a phone that is essentially unusable for my mother, who can barely see or operate a regular smartphone. If you are considering this phone for a senior, especially someone with visual impairments or minimal tech experience, DO NOT buy it. It’s not just frustrating; it’s completely unfit for the purpose it’s marketed for. This phone is a waste of time, and I regret the decision to upgrade. Avoid at all costs if you care about functionality and simplicity!

Flips Open, Calls Mom, Saves Lives—What Can’t It Do?
The Lively Jitterbug Flip2 is the phone equivalent of a warm hug from your tech-savvy grandma. Big buttons? Check. Loud speaker? Check. Emergency button that feels like Batman’s hotline? Absolutely. It’s so simple, even your cat could dial 911 (not recommended). Just flip it open and boom—instant connection, no swiping, no app jungle. Plus, it comes with a personal operator who can call you a Lyft. Yes, really. It’s like having a concierge in your pocket. Perfect for seniors, technophobes, or anyone who thinks smartphones are just too... smart. This phone doesn’t judge—it just connects.

Alexa works but is hard to set up, calling is awkward
We got this for my 89 year old father in law because a smartphone is way too error prone for him. Even if he were to use Siri to dial, if he touched the screen he would be in trouble. He has AMD so he only has peripheral vision and can’t see well enough to work through any menus or a contact list, even with the large font on this phone. He flips the phone open to answer, puts it to his ear, and flips it closed to hang up. He knows how to do that, and it is reliable that way! Hidden in the accessibility settings in the phone is a handy one to lock the exterior buttons so he can’t accidentally turn the ringer volume down. We also liked that this has Alexa capability so he might be able to use dial by voice on top of the flip phone practicality. Unfortunately Amazon and Lively aren’t friendly enough to have a seamless integration of Alexa with the phone. It’s hard to set up and the results leave something to be desired. First you have to link your Lively and Amazon accounts which is understandable, but then you have to add the Lively ‘skill’ to Alexa on this device. The big disappointment is that even after jumping through the hoops to successfully set it up you can’t say, “Alexa, call Tommy.” You have to say, “Alexa, ask Lively to call Tommy.” My father in law is having the darnedest time remembering that or even pronouncing the new words for him “Alexa”, “ask”, and “Lively.” You can’t deviate, you have to nail it! Apparently he never uses the word ask it’s always tell, and Alexa was an obscure name in 1945 but Alexis was fairly popular! If we could get it to call me when he says, “Alexis, call Tommy” or even, “Alexis, tell your buddy to call Tommy” that would be great.

Fantastic phone, setup with an agent only
I got this phone for my lady friend's Mom. I think this is a great device, the sound is wonderful, very easy to use. What they don't tell you: many different plans to choose and unless you setup your phone online ( which I tried several time @ $25, you must set it up with an agent @ $35. The phone is low priced @ $48 and is feature packed. The minimum ( cheap) package is $14.99 but it's only 300 minutes and three hundred texts. I move her to unlimited talk and text for an additional $5. The gentleman I spoke with was great; he tried hard to upsell me to the next higher package. So it's up to you. And Lively only runs on their network. My friends Mom stays home, it gets signal so no worries!Fantastic phone
