Great smart watch
This is an excellent smart watch. It can't do the super fancy stuff that the Apple Watches can do, like take a call on the watch, or type replies to texts, but the battery lasts for about a week, you can do almost anything you want with the health tracking/fitness routines, you can load your spotify playlist onto the watch, and connect your earbuds so you don't even need a phone. There is also an 'app store' in the Garmin app where people have made apps for the watch to add all kinds of functionality.I have had it for 3 years, and still wear it every day. If it ever goes bad I would get it againDefinitely get a protective cover for it though. The one negative I would have would be that since there is no raised lip around the screen it is very easy to bang it into things and scratch it. The covers are like $5 a piece though, so NBD

Always good quality and good customer service from Garmin!
Quality amazing products from Garmin. You can’t go wrong. Even their entry level watches are great. In addition to this I have a 245 music garment and it’s amazing.

Needs to be charged almost every day.
Nice watch. Its a battery hog compared to others I have used in the past. It has a quite a few bells and whistles to eat up a charge. But it does charge fast. The menus take some getting used to. I still haven't figured out the best use of the body battery gauge. The O2 is off by about 3-4% points. Probably from my leathered skin. I compared the O2 sensor with two battery finger sensors and two sensors in the doctors office. The O2 sensor is a big time battery drain. I quit leaving it on continuously after the first week. Once you have that figured out its all good. I love the app. I had previously owned two Vivoactive HR watches. They did not hold up for more than a year each, (face cracked, and the other moisture from rain) Im rough on electronics. But were much better with battery life and had a less convoluted menu. But no O2 sensor. At first, on the Venu, all the bells and whistles become very addicting. But after some time I have learned what stats I use most often and the less used stats are more for curiosity.Durability may be an issue with this Venu watch considering it is a step up from the Vivo and looks to be the built similarly. I will find out.I am a retired 63 yr old avid hiker, thruhiker, backpacker, mtn biker, mtn climber, xc skier, tele skier, rock and ice climber, kayaker, fly fisher, ground sleeper, viewer of outdoorsy videos, blah blah blah, so these watches get pushed to some extremes of hot, cold, freezing, jarring, direct sun, pouring rain and accidental beer spillage. I own a garmin gps, an inreach gps mini, and watches. I have used other brands but find Garmin to be my go to. I'm planning on treating this watch with more respect than I did my past smart watches.

Great tracker!
I have used a Fitbit for several years, and always figured I don't really need the extra features Garmin trackers have, why pay more for something you don't need? However, after what seems like an annual event of my Fitbit dying a slow death again, it seemed wasteful to buy another with the expectation I'd just have to probably replace it next year. I figured, hey, this is on sale and I've heard they work well and last longer, why not go for it? It took a bit to get used to the functionality, and to be honest I still am working to master the buttons and menu on the watch, but I absolutely LOVE this thing. I can't recommend it enough! If you are on the fence about what tracker to get, I highly suggest it. If you are worried about a big clunky square face (I was), it's not as bad as you are thinking, looks great.

Exactly what I was looking for
This watch makes it very easy to track work outs. It syncs automatically with strava. That was something that I was looking for. I was never able to get strava to work with my fitbit when I had one. This garmin makes it simple. I bought the watch that had music storage and it is very nice to be able to have music during runs without bringing my phone. The battery life is pretty good, I get about 4 days or so. I have noticed it runs down faster when I use the music app but it has not been a problem. I wish the charging cable was a more easily available type in case I lose it. Overall I think it is a good value for the money.

Unfortunately, my experience was terrible
I don't usually write reviews on things, but this Venu SQ is a waste. Nothing on this phone has worked as advertised. It kept getting updates and so I kept giving it another chance hoping it just needed the latest patch, but it never improved. Really don't know what the patches were for.The heart rate sensor is wildly inaccurate (off by 30+ bpm) during important activities, and I've tried various placements. Even resting heart rate has been wrong multiple times when I've tested it.When trying to use the GPS for a run it took over 10 mins just to connect to a satellite. I live in a city and it was a clear blue sky. It happened everytime I tried to use it. Eventually, I gave up and just used my phone. The pulse ox, when compared to another dedicated device using a finger sensor, is wrong. The watch seems to charge quickly, but the battery life is not even two days with almost nothing on.The watch will not stay connected to my phone. The step counter was not correct either, but it was at least close.Don't waste your time or money.

My first Garmin smartwatch and definitely not the last
It took a while to figure out this watch on race days and I missed some accurate starts, but finally got it down and i absolutely love this watch. Love the ability to store music. When I running in remote areas without LTE reception this is particularly useful, so I don’t miss a beat. My only issue is the face size and band length. Perhaps this was designed with females in mind or just smaller males. I’m the “ave size guy” 200lbs, 6’ so keep that in mind. I did change the band and got comfortable with the screen size with time. Soon I’ll be upgrading to a bigger batter Garmin though.
