Blue Plate Light Mayonnaise with Olive Oil, 30 Fl Oz Jar (Pack of 6)

This is really good mayonnaise, that is a tad thicker than some of the cheap stuff you get, and has a good solid creamy feel to it, and a nice taste. I find this is really good in sandwiches, and things such as tuna salad recipes. I like the texture of this, and think it's a little thicker and creamier than your average mayonnaise. I like that because it's spreads out easy on things, and I think it helps thicken sauces and things I make with it. Plus it has a good flavor. Also, this has a brighter, cleaner color than some other brands. Note, for those who care I included pictures of the expiration date. I just wanted to show that this wasn't an old item they sent to me, but as a good expiration date in the future. That's a good indication that there selling fresh product to you, and not stuff that went past the expiration date in a grocery store. I hope that helps someone. If you can get this at a decent, and competitive price with other mayonnaise, it is really worth getting. I prefer it over the store brands. As a bonus, I think the design of the packaging is very pleasing, and artistic. It might seem strange, but this stands out a little better on the Shelf than other mayonnaise Brands.

Delicious taste that's great for cold sandwiches. It's slightly different than something like Hellmans (or Best Foods depending where you're from) or Dukes. It's a little tangier than both of those brands and a bit heavier than Hellmans. It has a nostalgic cheap sandwich shop from the 90's taste, and I mean that in the best way possible. A little hard to squeeze out towards the end of the bottle but nothing a little shake can't fix. I ordered when it was cool out and had no seperation issues.

This is my first Amazon review for any product. I am a mayo freak. This Blue Plate Mayo met my expectations and almost exceeded them which is why I chose to make a review so others looking for a good Mayo can hopefully read this and give it a try, if you haven’t already. Growing up, we aways had Mayo in the house but I didn’t give a thought as to the brand of Mayo. My parents bought Best Foods/Hellman’s or Kraft Mayo or whatever was cheapest. It wasn’t until I was 14 that a friends dad made us a sandwich with Best Foods that I came to realize, I was a Best Foods fanatic. My friends dad would eat it by the spoonful and even put it on his pancakes. He was nuts. But I came to notice the difference of Best Foods to other Mayo. Hey...to each their own. We all have different taste. But to me, Best Foods has a nice taste, bite and good texture. It was and has been my go-to Mayo. I’ve purchased and tried many, many Mayo’s through the years but stuck with Best Foods. Their Vegan brand was the best vegan brand of Mayo that I have ever had too but then they changed the recipe and from what I hear, it tastes like plastic and is now inedible. WTF Best Foods??? Anyways. I made New Orleans Po Boys and online ordered the original Po Boy bread to the house and found out about Blue Plate NO (New Orleans) Mayo. Bought it not expecting much. Boy was I wrong. This Mayo is delicious, has a more velvety consistency than Best Foods but is very similar. Any fan of Best Foods/Hellman‘a will be pleasantly surprised and fans of other Mayo will find this to be a tasty new Mayo to add into your fridge. I’m kinda addicted to it. The taste is slightly “eggier” than BF/Hellman’s but it’s not in a bad way. I don’t like egg tasting foods but find this perfect. As others noted, it’s less “gelatinous” than BF’s but I found the consistency very close, but slightly creamier. The flavors are very similar but it’s savory, but just slightly more than BF’s. All in all, for $4-5 a jar, it’s well worth the buy and if you like BF’s/Hellmans like I do, this Mayo will do you right in a very good way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I. If not...like I said, it’s all personal preference. As a BF’s/Hellman’s enthusiast, I found that this is on par, if not 1% better. That’s huge coming from me, for anyone who knows me. Just my 2 cents though folks. This is a great Mayo, I enjoy it. ***for this who ordered and it separated...that’s most likely due to being stored in high temperatures for too long. It contains oil and eggs, so they will separate with high heat. I bought a jar through Amazon and it was perfect. But to those who receive a separated jar, message amazon. I’m sure they will help to fix it. Or take a jar of your Mayo, set it out in the sun for several hours..you’ll get the same result. Hope all are well, this is a great Mayo. Enjoy!!!

Good taste and texture. It freezes and separates easily

Blue plate mayo is one of the best mayos I’ve ever tried. It is creamy & tasty. We use it on all of our sandwiches and for potato or macaroni salads

Tastes delicious and doesn't have lemon/citrus ingredients (important for anyone who needs to avoid those). Can't find this in my local store, so I'm glad I was able to find it on Amazon.

This was an impulse purchase, kinda. I was going through my pantry making a list of items I was out of or getting low on. I dont get out to the store that often, so I rely on getting it all at once (and extra) and/or online shopping. Mayo was on my list. As I was poking around the grocery listings, I saw this mayo. Price wasn't too bad-- way less than Hellmans (my preference) but about the same or a little more than store brands. I bought one for $3.06 and figured if I liked it then it would be added to my subscribe and save for $2.61 which would be competitive to my store brand, which is pretty good. I think it tastes a slightly tangier than Hellmans. It reminds me more of the Kraft brand of mayo. I like mayonnaise, not "salad dressing" (ie miracle whip) so I was a little put off by the mild tang, yet not so much to not continue to use (I waste nothing). Even though it isnt as eggy as Hellmans or other heavier mayos, I think it has a nice balance. Again more like Kraft for those familiar. Or if you were to take 85% mayo and and 15% miracle whip. For those that want a slightly more bright tasting mayo yet not a salad dressing/miracle whip may enjoy this. Food stuff comes down to preference. So everyone could love it, but you may hate it. Only your tastebuds matter. Just as everyone could dislike it and you may love it. Only your perception matters. I like this, but dont love it. Yet, if the price is right I would keep it on hand in my pantry. I didnt take note of the expiration date. This is one of those foods that I dont care what the exp date is.

I used to think Best Foods Mayonnaise was the default available here. The Blue Plate easily topples it from my preferred choice because it made my very simple Potato Salad have something more to offer.
