Timely, helpful advice and ideas!
A group of us are working our way through this book, and it has very helpful ideas to think about. Perhaps the most challenging issue is that of tenure for faculty-- it's such a sacred cow in higher ed that in some cases even suggesting this system be updated is sacrilegious. All in all, this book is definitely worth reading.

Solid, timely synthesis
While there is not much brand-new thinking here, this book succeeds in assembling a number of important extant ideas about higher ed into a vision of the future of the liberal arts that the current pandemic situation makes more urgent than ever. The second half of the book puts these ideas together in a particularly cogent way.

A reshaping of our ways of learning.
A carefully thought out and impassioned manifesto as both plea and warning to our education system. The writing is lucid and deep, profound and important. An askesis of reshaping both learner and learning in mind, body, and soul.
