Asterix and the Goths: Album #3 (Adventures of Asterix)

Great.

Anything I can say about these books will be less! Just don't read the text; read the pictures!!

Asterix and Obelix are classic in comics. The story is still great, the jokes are even better then before. I use these to read to my younger child and she loves the duo and their adventures.The font is easy to read for the most part, with exception of the Gothic. It is a bit more difficult, but still very doable.

What can I say? I buy the Asterix books for my middle school sons who adore them. They were first introduced to them when they were in grade school, by some friends from France. I was always an anti-comic book mom, but how can I complain when world history is thrown into the story? Both boys (ages 12 and 14) read and reread all of the titles we own. We have the paperback versions and the bindings are very sturdy and hold up to all the wear and tear and usage. They love 'em!

We had this whole collection when we were kids and our parents sold them in a garage sale to our great disappointment. We've thought about how much we enjoyed these books as kids and wished we still had our copies. Just found them here and I'm giving them to my siblings for Christmas. So excited! The paperbacks are good quality - they seem to be "hardier" than I remember them being back in the day. Covers are thick shiny cardstock and not paper thin. Colors are vibrant and clear.

Several people in my family are history fanatics, and the subject got onto the Germanic tribes and their migration the other day, which reminded me of this--everyone talking of the visigoths, the ostrogoths, the franks, the angles and the saxons... You get the idea. One of our number had never read this, so guess what I ordered him for Christmas! (Of course, I'm hoping to suck him into the entire series eventually...) Humor at its best.

I loved reading them as a kid. I bought them for my son and he loves reading them rather than play video games. The comics are big like the original and not like the new Tintin Volumes which have microscopic fonts.

See my review of Asterix the Gaul. Maybe a little different than the usual comic book, and contains some European bias humor which is a little different sensibility than the American. But then that's what literature is all about. ;-)

The kids love these and rereading a an adult they are still enjoyable

These books just take me back to my childhood, And now at 55 there like a breath of fresh air I for one recommend them, If you Know Asterix from your childhood or are new to the asterix stories I suggest you get these and enjoy, I already have the next 2 new one's pre orderd
