Great socket to repair your extension cord
I bought this socket to repair an outdoor extension cord (14ga/3) whos end had worn out over time. The design of the socket is excellent, providing a metal shroud for each terminal to completely capture the stranded wires present in extension cords. The plastic of the socket is rugged, hopefully ensuring a long life. I definitely recommend this socket, over other options which had screw terminals where the wire would need to be wrapper around the screw.. Not a good design for stranded wire; this one works far better.

Great item
This is a good plug. It’s not that cheap plastic has a rubber O-ring to seal off the cord and worked perfectly to replace my broken plug.

A good replacement for my damanged extension cord.
Application: I used it to replace the female plug on my 14 AWG extension cord I use outdoors. Like most extension cords, mine has a molded plug at each end. My extension cord still works. But after a few years of use, the outer sleeve had pulled back from the plug and exposed the internal wiring. I wish I had a dollar for every extension cord I've ever owned that did this. And no, it's not because I grab the cord and not the plug when I unplug things. Description: The description says "Rubber". I assumed it meant that the entire outer surface of the plug is made of rubber. Nope. Except for a 1/2" wide band of black rubber that goes all around the diameter of the body (near the strain-relief), it appears to be made of hard plastic. Why is this important? A plug made of plastic can crack if it's dropped onto a hard surface (like concrete). But a rubber plug will survive such impacts. For this reason, I'm subtracting one star in my rating. Installation: It's easy. All you need are wire cutters, wire strippers, and a #2 Phillips screwdriver. Quality: It seems good enough. Time will tell how long it'll last. At this point, I'd buy it again. Country of origin: The product is marked "Assembled in Mexico". Sorry, but no USA manufacturing jobs were created when purchasing this product. I looked for an equivalent plug made in America, but I couldn't find one.

Well made. Good value. See my description below regarding installing the wires under the connectors
Well made. Had to fiddle for a bit to get the wires under the screw connectors. I also used some heat shrink tubing around the inner wire sheathing and the extension cord outer jacket. Most of the housing is plastic, so you need to be careful not to damage it while using it when it is attached to the extension cord (i.e. I don't just drop it on hard ground when setting it up for use, I place it on the ground to prevent damage). >>A pet peeve regarding the screw connectors is that the manufacturer installed some guide troughs near the screws for the wires to fit snuggly under the connectors. But the way it is designed is opposite of the way you are supposed to fit the wire under the screw. I was trained to feed the wire / shepherd's crook under the connector in a clockwise manner, so when the screw is tightened the wire is not pushed out of position.<<

Now my cord is revived and working good! I recommend thisone to anybody fixing their old heavy cord
Works like it should, fairly heavy duty and appears well made. Using this to keep an old heavy cord going. Glad I found this one.

good little plug replacement
Worked as advertised and makes it easy to change out plugs on your old extension cords. Some users had issues with installation. There was a someone who did a great graphic on which wire went where.
