We all know the importance of Omega-3s, so I'm not going to bore you with what you already know. They are rather large pills to swallow, but that's to be expected given that it's 900 mg of Omega-3 in a single pill. They are thankfully tasteless and burpless. Just really wish they weren't so pricey at $50 a bottle.

I've been ordering these for almost 6 years now. I find them easy to swallow, and I've never noticed an aftertaste. They've always arrived on time and in great condition. What else could you ask for?

In order to better gauge the efficacy of this product, I waited 8 weeks before writing this review, having taken two pills daily of the Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3 supplement over that period (why two is explained later). I don't suffer from high heart risk factors, high cholesterol, memory impairment, etc. In fact, I eat a generally healthy diet (mostly fresh foods, including occasional fish, almost no processed food), exercise on a regular, if moderate basis, and don't overindulge in alcohol or other unhealthy habits. But as a 65 year old male, I figure if there is more I can do to reinforce good health factors without going overboard on supplements, why not consider it if there were no downside. I was originally attracted to the benefits of Omega 3 having seen a report of its use in helping occupants in elderly care facilities in Japan, a country renowned for the good health and longevity of its citizens. A recent, controlled medical case study there found remarkable physical and mental benefits for the elderly patients in the study over a three-year long period of Omega 3 supplements added to their regular diet. They zeroed in on a 2000mg daily amount of EPA and DHA in an optimal 2:1 ratio - which is almost the same as the Innovix product, if two pills are taken daily. I was unaware of the possible side effects of fish oil supplement (gas, burping, bad breath) but relieved to find the enteric coating of this supplement avoids this, and that the coating was a natural bovine gelatin product as opposed to a synthetic BPA. As to my personal benefits, I can't honestly vouch for positive internal effects, other than that there have been no apparent ill side effects in that regard. I have, however, noticed the occasional aching and swelling of my right knee has reduced noticeably and the small scaly patch of skin (psoriasis?) on my left temple has become much less severe. Is this product really making the difference? That's hard to judge but I'm encouraged enough to continue the regimen of two pills daily. It will be interesting to see what my blood pressure and cholesterol levels are like upon my next physical check up.
