Bought as a sprinkle topping treat for my cat after her once a week 5 am pill. Tried it on rice for myself. Might be a new routine because we both like it very much!

Well dashiki just isn't without this. Good quality clean and not powdery. Great flavor.

Item exactly as ordered and the Bonito flakes have an expiration date out far enough that I will have no problem using them before that date. This has been my second time ordering this item from this seller and I am happy with the purchase every time!

Disclaimer: I do not know anything about how to judge Bonito Flakes. I needed some for some recipe, and these worked perfectly. i.e. they tasted good to me. They come in many small plastic bags, and that's very convenient. If you happen to be an expert in Japanese food, you could have a different opinion. :-)

It has a long shelf life and is fresh and delicious.

It's bonito. We use it as a tasty disguise when our puppers need to take medicine or as a smoky, bacony treat without the bacon. Our cat likes to bat around the larger flakes before she devours them! A little goes a long way.

This is used only for certain dishes - not something I'd buy all of the time.

I bought and tried this because of a video I saw on how it is made. I was curious as to what it tasted like. To me, it very closely resembles the flavor of a mildly salted anchovy. In a real Caesar salad, it steals the show. Doesn't have a salt aftertaste (I only used that word as a flavor profile for its taste). It is a fresh flavor, if that is what you like and can make a great accent in some dishes.
