My 13 year old chocolate lab has a kidney disease and was drinking a lot of water and peeing the bed at night. The vet told me to get this food for her. She absolutely loves it. No more drinking constantly, hasn't peed the bed since eating this food.

Our Lab-Collie mix was diagnosed as being on the cusp of full kidney disease last year. She was also diagnosed with Irritable Bowl Disease about ten years ago, and is a picky eater who does not like some textures, so you can imagine how frustrating it's been for 14 years. I've tried Science Diet KD, which does have a lower protein count, but she hates it. Science Diet is rubbery and has no odor at all, and dogs eat as much based on smell as they do taste, especially dogs who prefer meat, which ours does. I bought our first case of ProPlan NF and figured I could donate it if she didn't like it, but I was happily surprised that she loves this food! She has not any stomach issues with it either. This is the only kidney disease food that I haven't had to mix with other food to get her to eat. I am about to order our fourth case, and am very glad to have found this food! Also happy with the price.

My dog is suffering from bacterial infection in her kidney and needs low protein/low phospherous diet. She refused to eat the Royal Canine stuff from the vet, so I did some research and found that this Purina NF is one of the better choices for Renal support. Unfortunately, little miss fussy britches won't eat this either! Gave some to my labs just to see, and they Gobbled it up! I am giving it 4 stars because I know it is a good dog food for renal support, and its not Purina's fault that I have a fussy dog. It is expensive, but so are all the prescription dogfoods. Also, Amazon was the only place I could purchase it without written authorization from my vet. Getting that from vet would have delayed my order a few days....

My almost 17 year old Maltese has been on kidney diet food for a while now and this is the only one she eats good as well as this brand dry. The other brands she wouldn’t touch. I buy this on Amazon but will not purchase again via Pet Central.

A bit pricey but last long for our small dog. His health has improved!

It didn't work out for me and my little girl. The vet knows that it is quality food however to to ingredients it's hard to get dogs to it.

I don’t know about flavor but the Pug seems to like it (of course he will eat just about anything in under 2 minutes). Poor little buddy has a growth on his kidney- blood work showed diminished kidney function- Vet put him on this - been after 2 months blood work is back to normal!
