CTA Tools8541 14" x 6mm Hex Bit Socket - Compatible with VW

Needed for VW 2.5L intake manifold removal and reinstall.This one piece tool will save you a ton of hassle over an extension, socket and bit when removing the 2.5L engine intake manifold, the are two bolts which are ~8 inches recessed. Several repair videos stated they dropped their bit and there is not good access to retrieve the dropped bit.This made those bolts (and some of the others) much easier to get to, both because you can't lose the end of the bit but also because it is slimmer than other extensions and adapters. The thinner tool made it easier to slide past other hoses and parts in the way.

I use this tool Everyday I work(5days). I have 100% confidence in this tool. No torqueing of the shaft, no bending, no issues. This is probably my favorite. The main shaft(not 6mm end) is a little chunky, but realistic and no ball. I'd say the lack of ball is pertinent to its longevity but a mild inconvenience for tricky angles.

6mm allen long enough to reach the bottom intake bolts without detaching from your 12 inch extension. the image it how my engine teardown when I finally found the first allen on a 1/4 inch drive extension... it is a worthy tool if you own a vw 2.5l to prevent frustration like this

Yes you do accually need a tool like this to remove the intake on a VW I5 engine. There are other ways to get it apart if you like loosing bits in an area you can’t reach.
