I great product to eliminate the mattress on futons
I was given a futon by a relative. Although it looks nice and in convenient to sleep on, when used as a couch the mattress kept sliding down making the seating very uncomfortable. I checked on the web and found this product designed specifically to solve this problem. I am so pleased with this foam tape system. It took just minutes to install and the futon mattress doesn't move at all now. My futon is no very comfortable when in couch mode.

So far so great
I got to the point where it was driving me crazy. The futon mattress was big and heavy and almost every day, I had to shift it back up after it slid down by a foot or two. It didn't help but the dogs love to jump up and down on it (they take over the futon for the window view). So when I wanted to solve the problem, I went all out and I bought this product, plus some mattress guard things (like metal square tabs that clamp to the frame). This was because before I bought stuff, I heard that this was nothing but foam with adhesive on the back and someone said that it didn't prevent the sliding 100%. While it is indeed foam with adhesive on the back, I was amazed that for me, it has worked perfectly. This big heavy mattress has not really slid down an inch since I got it almost a month ago, and the dogs have still continued to jump up and down daily. Maybe part of this is because I put extra foam pieces. It's only recommended that you do every other slat or every third slat. There isn't enough material to get a strip down each, but I found that if you cut little pieces off, That can still add to the grip. I'm not sure if that even helped, but whatever it is, my mattress isn't sliding. I'm not sure why that other person said the siding problems continued; I wonder if if it's because I have a different kind of fabric cover? (Microfiber velvety) Whatever it is, it works well enough that I actually returned the clamp on mattress guards. This stuff sticks so strongly and that little little bit of friction from the foam seems to be working great.

Why didn't I buy this years ago?
Yeah so this purchase definitely falls under the category of "why didn't I buy this years ago?". My futon cushion is very thick and comfortable, but also heavy. Being my first futon I thought it was normal for it to keep sliding down over time. Every other day or so I'd pick it up and try to put it back in place, only to have it slide back down over a short period of time. Pretty annoying. Finally I decided to see if there was anything on Amazon that could help with this and found this item. Reviews were good so I tried it out. Yeah, it works perfectly, the futon cushion doesn't move at all now. So to explain what it is, it has adhesive on one side which sticks to the slats of the futon frame. The other side looks kind of like a soft packing material you might see protecting electronics in shipping. Hard to believe by looking at it that it would support a heavy futon cushion with people sitting and getting up over and over, but it absolutely does work and it hasn't moved an inch since I got it. Since there is no adhesive on the side that touches the cushion it is completely safe to use and doesn't cause any kind of mess. The roll they sent was enough to apply to every other wood slat which apparently was more than enough by looking at the results. Definitely satisfied with the purchase! Don't forget to let the adhesive stick to the frame for an hour before you put the cushion back on. Not sure how important that really is, but I let it sit for an hour as instructed and results are perfect!

It definitely works and was easy to install.
The most important feature of this product is that it keeps our futon mattress firmly in place. We have a queen sized mattress on a full sized frame. There has always been a problem with mattress "creep" and we're always pushing it back into position. Installation of the No-Slip Strips took about 45 minutes, with most of the time spent calculating the maximum number of strips I could get out of the 306 inch roll (25 1/2 feet). From the pictures, you can see that we put eight 22" strips on the seat slats and six 21" strips on the back slats. Blue painter tape was used to mark the location of each strip. The No-Slip roll is 2" wide and the slats are 1 5/8" wide. There was a little bit of overhang of the material after application, which we basically ignored. After installation I placed the mattress back onto the frame and voila! it stayed in position like it had been nailed down - even after sitting and laying on it. Wish we had thought to search for a no-slip solution six years ago.

Works well if you have issues with holding back mattress
I was pretty doubtful that it would hold back my 8 inch mattress but as soon as I put them on the frame it was able to hold it back the mattress and actually make my futon look nice when it’s in the couch position! I would recommend this to anyone who has a big mattress on their futon that just doesn’t hold properly.

It workdy
So much better than the foam strips I added to the edges as shown. These are added to the seat along the support boards.

1 roll does not cover a queen sized futon if not strectched while applying
I have 2 queen sized futon, I bought 2 rolls, 1 for each as it was my understanding that 1 roll was needed for each. I read & followed the instructions and mid way on futon #1 realized that the roll was not going to cover the entire futon. So, I began to stick & slightly stretch to make it go further. Long story short, had to buy another roll @ $20 to finish the 2nd futon.

Wow! it really does work!
I wont lie, when i received it, i thought it was just a cheap piece of grab foam strip with some adhesive. I was WRONG. I was extra skeptical cause of my futons design (the slats are spaced wider than the strip could cover). That being said, i put both strips on and it HOLDS. Im using an old mattress (Queen) that was slipping all over the frame I got. But no, this thing is holding on like a champ. The only """"downsides"""" i can see, is that it is meant for a full size, not a queen sized futon. But thats it, it still works for mine so im super happy
