Thanks for a very valid question :) .. Our Matcha is not grown near Fukushima. After the Fukushima incident, the Japanese government put in place mandatory checks requiring certification on all food products, whether they were kept in country or to be exported. The mandatory checks remained in place for approximately 2 years until it was withdrawn due to no findings of contaminates. There are many stringent checks in place by us and all batches must meet the strict quality criteria laid out by the EU before any product can be legally imported and sold let alone certified organic and fit for sale in the EU. Any batch failing to meet these standards is automatically rejected by ourselves and returned to source. No it does not contain lead at all, so you can safely consume the recommended dosage as on the back of the pouch,

You swallow them whole with a some water. You can't make tea out of them.
